Here in NYC, we were not in the path of totality, but of near totality. I had my eclipse glasses (from the last one) & watched for an hour or so. I got my husband out to watch as well. He had never seen one before & was pretty awed by it.
We saw the eclipse today too..... All 3 of the kids and I enjoyed it.. My parents saw it too. My wife and her co-workers went outside and watched it too !!
Not much happened my way(Metrowest Massachusetts). I could see the sky getting a little darker than normal, but that was about it. I didn't go outside.
We're in NE Ohio. The eclipse was wonderful. Full, 100%. The ring of fire was beautiful. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
It was quite cloudy here in western NY but it was breaking up as the the eclipse was doing its thing. Actually worked in our favor ...... the clouds acted like the glasses and gave a great harmless view.
We were supposed to see about 90% in central Alabama, but about 10 minutes till the max, clouds rolled in. Still got to see most of it up to that point. I ordered glasses from a vetted source, that passed all the appropriate tests. I had read where some counterfeit glasses were showing up in the market. Hope no one suffered eye damage from such glasses.
Our local libraries were / had been giving out the eclipse glasses for the last few weeks.... They worked very well... Our view of the eclipse here only got it covered to about a crescent shape....
NYC here as well. I had my glasses and a drink next to me while I sat in my lounge chair and stared at the sun. I got to see the moon pass on front of the sun, meh, but was really disappointed that it never got very dark at all and the birds kept chirping like they'd seen all this before! But I will say, the neighborhood was dead calm, no cars or noise to be heard anywhere! That was slightly unerving! On the excitement meter, I'd give it a 3 out of 10, right up there with Capone's empty vault and Y2K. So, I have a barely used pair of eclipse glasses going cheap! Act fast, it won't last! First bid wins!
We had great weather and seats for the eclipse here in my neck 'o the woods. We got with some friends, ate cookies of course, and they were out of this world.
Here in Rochester, the sky was clear on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday. On Monday....totally overcast.
