I like it too, but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the anodized colours he made. I hope Evan is doing well, I haven’t heard from him in years.
Friday, April 12 XPEC~~Simpson T3~~Gillette Pre-War USA Tech/Personna 74~~Thor's Bay Rum w/Lime This modest Tech, loaded with a fantastic blade, gave a very close and comfortable shave.
Saturday, April 13 XPEC~~Simpson "Rover"~~Feather AS-D2/Personna 74~~Vintage Aqua Velva I have made a serious dent in the XPEC. I don't XPEC it to last out the month. Still rockin' the Personna 74. These blades have some real longevity. Vintage AV for the finish.
It is was a busy week so time to catch up. I have been working on the Castle Forbes and hopefully it will finish this month. This week's theme is BIG, big brushes and big razors.
April 13, 2024 Asylum Rx V2 Kai Captain Protouch MG Zenith Boar Stirling Glacial Citron Shave Soap & Aftershave April 14, 2024 Asylum Rx V2 Kai Captain Protouch MG CH2 Synthetic Stirling Glacial Citron Shave Soap & Aftershave Happy Sunday Everyone! I got side tracked yesterday and forgot to post. So today is a 2 for 1. I have found that loading and lathering from a bowl works much better with the "Fast & Loose Lathering Method". Accordingly, I moved the shave soap to my Aesop shave bowl. This is one of the keys to finishing a soap more quickly. Take care and have a great day.
Sunday, April 14 XPEC~~Rubberset 400/3~~RazoRock Game Changer OC .84/Personna 74~~Vintage Drakkar Noir This shave took place about 12 hours ago...BBS is long gone. The vintage Guy Laroche has become a skin-scent, albeit a beautiful stank.
April 14th Barbasol Floating Head w Astra SP APShave Flattop/ Sapele Jeeves of Hudson St. Blood on Steel combo Thayers Early morning shave, late evening post. Not for the usual reason, though. My phone was kaput...I still have other electronics to post from, but the shave pics are on my phone. Problem rectified late today. This morning's shave was with the 2nd soap I'm thinking about for the next 3017. I rarely reach for it, as I recall not really enjoying the scent. It was fine today. I love the Jeeves lather...it has stood the test of time versus other artisans for me. Verdict? A real contender. It is also one of the older artisan pucks still in my den. We'll see about the scent, but the performance was top notch.
