    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Prep: Warm shower:/Bulldog Original Shower Gel.

    Pre:
    Cold wet flannel to my face.
    Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Vie-Long 21mm Horse hair.
    Bowl Lather.
    Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: Arko Cool Shaving Cream.
    Blade: KCG. (D2)
    Razor: Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO.

    Post:
    Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Arko Cool After Shave-Cologne + ASB.

    Greetings,
    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

    A wonderful performance from the Chinese Gillette super speed clone & KCG blade duo.

    I haven't gave my Vie-Long horse hair brush a run out for a while and forgot how much backbone the brush has with the softness of the tips. I find you get the best from them using the "brushing strokes" method when lathering to prevent tangles in the knot.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Arko Fresh ASB.

    My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen. :cool:

    SUNDAY 14 APRIL 2024
    Days growth = 1

    14 Apr 2024.jpg

    Prep = 3 x HOT water soak for a nice change
    Preshave = TOBS Jermyn Street, still hanging in there...
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Agar
    Brush = Omega 10049 a favourite
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Adjustable Gillette Slim I4
    Blade = Shark Super Chrome (1)
    Passes = 2 – 3 + as needed
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    ASL = Sterling Bay Rum
    Scent = Arabian Sunset as an afterthought
    Damage = none

    9+ Super Smooth. Started the Slim @4, but went to 5 to finish up with. This might work better for me. Very easy shave today. Super lather, never a problem with Sterling Soap. The Shark felt better today than in the previous two days, (hot water prep, my usual full prep, Sterling and Gillette all helped no doubt)

    Hope you all had a blessed Sunday whatever your endeavours

    Returning to the Proraso Shave Foam this morning was good. I finally got to the point where more CLOUD is squeezed out than squiggly snake. I like the cloud form better. Reminds me of Gillette Foamy and my old favorite Rise Superfoam. Maybe I just need to shake it longer. Anyway-very well done all around. I mde sure to change razor direction down at Cactus Nation(neck), as I've been trying to make a habit of that. For me, it's best to go south-to-north the lower down I get. Zero across the board with cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. One pass A reviewer of Proraso's Refresher A.S. balm said he likes it, but also called for a Refresher A.S. lotion, which currently hasn't been developed. I agree wuth the reviewer. Another said his neck developed a rash due to its use(the balm). Scared me, no doubt. Hopefully ANY cool A.S. will work.Osage, perhaps. We shall see. As for this shave-As Outstanding As It Gets again.

    I had a very close shave yesterday and I still look socially acceptable, but I want to look my best for church this evening. I could've stopped after only one pass, but did my usual three. I was just shy of passing the cotton ball test, but it still was a an error-free BBS result.
    Captain's Choice soaps are very hard, but I can still flake the soap off the tub and place it in my shave bowl to whip up a nice lather. Here's my lather:

    The alum gave me very little feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. I feel clean and refreshed. Take care.
