    I was not aware! We must be pretty close then.

    I'm in Riverhead all the way North. If you know where Georgios Catering Hall is off of Sound and Oaklieigh Ave's, I'm all the way at the end on the water in a community called Wood Cliff Pk. I've had the place for 4 years now and it's a pretty cool little community and a nice getaway. I always loved the North Fork.

    Small world!:)

    Nice lather and cool brush Joe

    Well I enjoy the challenge !
    Seriously, up to now I have found I have to go ATG upper and lower lip to get a really close shave
    However this morning I used my Slim on @5 and found no need for it
    Maybe I am finding my sweet spot after all this time!

    Another classy shave

    btw 'crat or not, few will argue with Mr Gillette!

    thanks Joe

    thanks Joe, again!

    Super shave and pic Barry

    Thank you Joe. The bowl is nothing special, it's very functional though,and serves it's purpose wonderfully.

    I was a taxi driver so I am familiar with that area. I have to pass the Cooperidge Inn to get to Oakleigh Ave. You are about 20 miles east of me. It is a small world, indeed!

    Very good shave this morning. This is another "must re-order when ready" soap. Good amount of leather in it. Nice work at the Loading Dock with the Stoylin. At first it appeared I got too much water on the brush(good thing I was going to do another pass, right?). Clean and clear everywhere on the shave itself. No problems anywhere. As implied, I did a little more loading before the second pass. Russian Leather A.S.(TSD store)to close out. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good morning.

    Straight Razor Shave #541
    15/16 George Wostenholm Near Wedge
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    PAA King R. Emporium SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 40.5 hrs

    I definitely needed to shave this morning with 40 hrs of stubble on my face. I went with this 100+ year old razor to do the job Three passes gave me a close shave without any leakage. That's an A in my book.
    Decided to use PAA King R. Emporium soap. It has a mild barbershop scent and makes a great lather. Here's my lather:

    I didn't get any alum feedback so that's always a good thing. Splashed on the witch hazel and AV Ice Blue aftershave and I am ready to go out into the world. Take care.

    Days growth = ~ 1

    Prep = 3 x HOT water soak
    Preshave = TOBS Jermyn Street
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Agar
    Brush = Omega 10049
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Slim I4 set on @5
    Blade = Shark Superior Chrome (3) !
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers

    Damage = none

    Another Super Smooth shave
    The Shark felt smoother today than normal. Have I been binning my blades too soon?
    The Slim on setting 5 meant a cleaner first pass and less buffing needed
    No ATG needed at the upper or lower lip
    I might want to increase this to 6 and see how we go
    Might want to try the Shark for a 4th day

    Hoping you all have a Terrific Tuesday

    April 16, afternoon shave

    I've been working with my Schick Krona almost exclusively this month and the shaves have been VG, but I received a new razor today, a Fatip Piccolo SE. And of course I had to try it out! It comes with an open and a closed comb plate. I went with the open because I had never used one. Well, what a beautiful shave! Not a nick or any irritation, just a smooth, comfortable shave.

    A 4.5 out of 5. I'm not sure it can get much better! Everything else was pretty much the same as I've been using, Treet blade, Preraso cream, alum block. Aftershave however was Noble Otter BarrBarr. Beautiful scent, Old Spice like, but a little more subtle.

    The Fatip is gorgeous to look at, with above average plating and a lovely handle. The gun metal and gold finish make for a beautiful combination on this. It's quite heavy with a short ish, easy to control handle. Kind of like a vintage Gillette Tech maybe(?) It wasn't as aggressive as it looks, maybe a 5 out of 10. I've heard of some QC issues with Fatip, but it all looks great so far. It's a fantastic $30 razor IMHO.
