    Hmm….. still very smooth after yesterday’s great shave. Should I shave today or not?

    Decided to shave anyway

    I chose the Merkur 37C again because the last number of times I have used it I wondered how the wider blade of the Kai would feel again

    Prep = 3 x HOT water soak
    Preshave = TOBS Jermyn Street
    Cream/Soap = Sterling MITA for a mild Menthol Monday
    Brush = Omega 10049
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Merkur 37C
    Blade = Kai (1)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    ASL = Fine Latigo got the call
    Damage = no cuts nick polka dots slices dices gouges or other notifiable mishaps, but I did notice some good exfoliation

    The Alum was rather vocal this morning

    Skin looked a bit dry so used some Nivea Sensitive ASB, not my usual habit though

    The Sterling never fails to impress and is the gold standard lather against which to compare other soaps and creams
    It never fails to perform well, and has quite a wide latitude in terms of how much water it needs to do so

    The Kai makes the 37C come alive so it was used with much more care today

    Normally I have to dig the 37C in quite a bit to get it to bite, but today I rode the cap so lightly that at times all I felt was the blade doing its job

    Minimal ATG around the mouth

    Scarily smooth today

    Have a great Monday ladies and gents!

    Ever since I started wet shaving I find myself doing the same thing - shaving when I don't really need to. I just find it relaxing and weirdly satisfying. I never had that feeling when I was shaving with cartridge and electric razors. That was a chore I never looked forward to!

    Sounds like a nice shave!:)

    Very well done this morning to close out the OSP soap and "New Spice" A.S. (wish I had the Shulton persuasion). That's the second straight time the Clubman Pinaud brush gave me a nice shave. Nice work at the Loading Dock with said brush. Great shave all over-no negative issues. 2 passes. Course I must credit the Stoylin bodywash for setting thungs up in the shower. I'm so glad Doc Ezlovan has these. Another classic finish from P&G's "New Spice". (course the bottle says Old Spice, but it ain't Shulton's. )As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good morning

    Shavette Shave #544
    Master Barber Magic
    Derby 1/2 DE Blade (fresh)
    Hembree/ Maggard Timberwolf Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23.5 hrs

    I went with my new shavette that was piffed to me by my anonymous benefactors. I have to say that this experienced shavette shaver had to be vigilant with it. It doesn't have a bevel to help you with the angle and both ends of the blade are exposed. IMHO, this shavette should not be used by beginners. With that said, it did give me a very nice shave. The Derby Blade is definitely mild, but efficient. I really could have called this shave after one pass. However, three passes gave me a BBS shave that would just be shy of passing the cotton ball test. Oh, there wasn't any blood loss in this session.

    Angora Soaps always produces a beautiful lather and this Lavender scent is awesome. It's too bad they closed shop. Here's my lather:

    I didn't have any alum feedback. Splashed the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to finish this shave. I am happy with this session. Looking forward to getting more comfortable with this shavette. Take care.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    (Face & Head Shave)

    Another very in-expensive eclectic shave set up where everything paired together wonderfully.

    Another incredible performance from the Ming Shi 2000s Futur clone/Dorco Prime Platinum duo. This my new favourite razor & blade set up so far this year.

    The Dorco Prime Platinum on it's 3rd outing still feeling smooth & efficient cutting through my face & head stubble with effortless ease.

    I will continue to use it with my final shave of the week on Thursday.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:
