    Awesome inaugural GEM razor shave Jim. You definitely will get better using it. The angle is very shallow and is unlike any DE or SE safety razor. Using a soft touch and stretching your skin is definitely needed while using a GEM razor. And yes, the blades are sharp. One final note, you are definitely ahead of many shavers by using that razor early in your journey. It's a razor that usually is utilized by more experienced wetshavers. Bravo!

    Wonderful maiden shave with the Gem 1912, Jim.

    My Ever Ready 1912 (UK) is the most visually attractive in my small Ever-Ready SE razor collection, The Art Deco style handle is Stunning.When ever i use my vintage razors I feel as though I'am using a proper shaving tool when shaving with them. I have such love and respect for these wonderful vintage shaving tools.
    The audio feedback from these vintage ladies is amazing!..' It's Like scraping a knife over hot buttered toast'. Once you familiarise yourself with these wonderful shaving tools getting used to the shaving angle and using the lightest of touch, you will be rewarded with some excellent smooth shaves.
