Well, the first translation makes no sense. The second one does.

 

Thanks for that. It sounds poetic.

The long time American in Japan person who documents Japanese razors only list the Kanji and no English name. I couldn't find what T. S. meant makerwise.

 

I edited my post. I think the second translation is more accurate.

Shusui is one of the 21 Great Grade swords and a "Black Sword/Blade" (黒刀, Kokutō?) that was once wielded by the legendary samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma. It is prized as the national treasure of the Wano Country. After his death, the katana was buried with Ryuma, until his grave was robbed by Gecko Moria 23 years ago.

Until You realize Shusui is now known as a comic book sword.

The traditional Japanese define it as "Autumn Water". It is in reference to a few rows of scales atop some highly prized Koi Fish. Like the leaves floating in the water.

I am pretending we are having a "normal" Spring, but it will get to 88 today in Durham, North Carolina. TOBS Avocado is one of the first shaving creams I used when starting traditional wet shaving. I love the fresh scent. Now you only get it in a tube. I am approaching the end of the Booster June Clover also and that after shave has been discontinued. I prefer large blades but love the easy shave with the MK31. These thin little blades sharpen easily and keep a good edge for a long time for me.

@Karl G, The photo shows the red bridge over the pond in the Asian section of the Sarah P Duke Gardens. I don't know if it was there when you went to Duke.
