This was my 15th consecutive shave with the Bigelow-Parkin travel razor. Feather blades are typically 3 and out. Shaves have all been near-BBS and very comfortable. I've had maybe three polka dots that appeared after the shaves were complete, and one small boo-boo due to operator error (failure to stretch out a section of 62-year old skin prior to dragging blade edge over it). The key to success with this razor, in my opinion, is that I shave more slowly and intentionally with it. Not bad for a century-old razor that set me back a fiver last year.
I'm guessing there are just a handful of guys living today that have put 15 shaves on a Bigelow-Parkin razor. If we ever have a meetup, I'll probably see
@JACarbone there. I hope he doesn't want to arm wrestle or challenge me to a one-arm push-up contest. I'd hate to publicly embarrass him.
JR 160 is made from hometown bat wood I scored from the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Kathy and I are planning a meetup with
@Jayaruh and his Bride soon, and we can't wait to meet them.
The Proraso 3017 continues at a steady pace. I have quite a few more shaves left. That's OK, as I'm a big fan of Proraso products, and I strategically stockpiled the last time we visited the Old Country.
The
Oud Palao Eau de Parfum Diptyque was a gift from
@Primotenore. This scent is a powerhouse (1 spray is plenty for the day), and I enjoy the combination of Oud, Rose, Wood, and Tobacco. This is Oud sample #2 of 4 from Joseph. I'm also loving the Aesop bowl that Joseph gave me. It has allowed me to better control my lather hydration and is just plain fun to use. I consider it a game-changer in the quality and enjoyment of my shaves...so much so, that I've gone back to daily shaving.
@Keithmax gave me the AHC aftercare products. I use 'em after my shaves and then reapply them at night time after washing my mug. They are top-shelf products made in Korea that are lightly enough scented to use before bed and even in my volunteer work at the hospital.
I hope you all are having a great weekend.
