Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Naples Tuxedo Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl
Lather: La Barbiera Sweet Orange Shaving Soap.
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Ming Shi 2000s Futur clone. (Settings) 3-wtg,4-atg,+pick ups.

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Duru Mandarin Cologne./Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic./ Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

La Barbiera Shaving Soap Week.

(Face & Head Shave)

Another new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend.

Maiden shave with the vegan La Barbiera Shaving Soap one of four soaps that I've had for a while but haven't got round to trying them out due to me reaching for my regular favourites. I'll be trying out the four soaps through out the week. I've started with the Sweet Orange, all of four shaving soaps have a pleasant scent which are slightly synthetic but, not overpowering to the point where it's offensive.

what I find impressive is the soap created an protective lather in a short space of time and doesn't dissipate on application the shea butter leaves a good post shave feel. The fragrance isn't the most important The three things that I like to test for in a shaving soap/cream are slickness protection, & post shave feel all three are essential especially for head/dome shaving.

The La Barbiera Shaving Soap gave all three this morning. What more can I ask for. I look forward to trying out the other three soaps throughout the week.

Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh #199 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the M. Hunter & Son 5/8 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

These Gilly soaps are also from South Africa and they’re vegan based. The Lush Life has a really nice scent, I love the way it lathers, it’s fairly slick, it has a mild but pleasant menthol sensation, and it’s really skin friendly. The Gold Bond moisturizer is so cooling as well as soothing, and the Max Refreshing aftershave from Bulgaria smells a LOT like Polo Green, and it’s VERY mentholated. No complaints at all about this shave - a three pass BBS work of art!

DE SOTD, Saturday, May 4th 2024

Razor : Yaqi TFC adjustable, MFG 2021>, any range. Well made but slightly blade forward even on setting #1. I usually get decent shaves with this razor and like to go up in increments as the shave progresses. The razor is based on the French 1930's Gibbs adjustable but uses standard Gillette blades + protected from blade tab overhang. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Personna Red(2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity IMO. Great blade.
Soap : Razorock M.F, masculine nice cologne scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Deep stones" 24mm boss knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock M.F splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi TFC adjustable with a Personna red blade.
