    John, it will be fun to follow along with your blade tests. Despite my silliness, Arko is a terrific soap. Some say it is drying, but I use unrefined shea butter in my post-shave routine, and it has never been a problem for me.

    I also recently got back in the groove with daily shaves. I got used to skipping days during the pandemic. I recently switched to bowl lathering, and my skin likes that I'm paying more attention to building a properly hydrated lather. I also use a crumpled tissue in my off-hand to grip and stretch my skin. The tissue works a little better for me than alum on my fingertips.

    Thanks John. I feel much better this morning. I haven't had any food in the last few days so I am going to take it easy and start with crackers, oatmeal, bananas and gradually go from there. Hopefully, I will be back to eating at full strength soon.

    thanks John, valuable nuggets/peanust! of information there. I will try it again soon, can't give up that soon.

    thank you Joe

    and again thx Joe

    Yes, I see why, and suspect the latter...

    thx Gary

    Good tip, I remember a youtuber demonstrating the same technique with a wet face cloth, also works for me, but for my touch ups I still prefer lathering up my free hand and stretching with that, leading the way, with the razor following closely. Haven't sliced the fingers yet!

    Excellent shave John. Yes, you are lucky that you can open up that razor to clean and switch out blades.

    Thanks Charlie. I was able to sleep through the night because I wasn't in pain. Thankfully, I am still not in pain so it looks like the worst part of this bug is finally done.

    Got to watch those opera singers, memories like an Elephant I suppose Lol!

    Lovely simple set, I admire your tenacity, that would bore me after a while

    My Schick E3 doesn't open up, or maybe I haven't tried hard enough to do so, for fear of breaking it, I understand there are some that do open and others that don't

    Might give it a whirl this weekend

    Glad to know your on the mend. I forgot to add banana's to my gut food list. Slow burning energy, an ideal sport fruit.

    Days growth = 1

    Prep = 3 x hot water soak
    Preshave = PR cypress and vetiver
    Cream/Soap = Cella
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Rocket HD
    Blade = Gillette Platinum (3)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = Cella
    Scent = Black Oud
    Score = 9+++++

    Damage = None

    Back on track again with this lovely simple set up

    Normally I will scoop some Cella from the tub into the Timeless bowl because the tub is quite small, today I loaded from the tub, still a bit messy

    I love that the Cella is unique in that it lathers well, provides great slickness and is so easy to rinse out the brush and clean the sink. Softer creams/croaps that I have tried are easy to clean up, but don’t give that superb slickness. Other harder soaps also give good slickness, but are harder to clean out of the brush and the sink. Thumbs up for Cella, it’s been a fun focus on this lovely little soap

    thank you Chris.:):eatdrink047:
    some e-2 and e-3 are fixed and not openable.force open at your peril..:)
    with a great soap that has tons of residual slickness,i like to do a water pass with buffing for pick ups,this tends to get me bbs without issues if i want to go that far.mostly for days out,not for work shaves..:)

    fine rocket shave Chris,back to what works:D..but seriously,schick injectors are great shavers,i like them for a change.i have an e-3,,g-"66",and an I-2,agressive to mild in that order.but blade choice,harder to keep clean,and similarity to cart razors turned me way from them..think bic dispsable..:D:cool::eatdrink047::bounce017:

    Clearly there's no doubt that South Porcupine Alley(chin)has become the most difficult and tricky area for my shaves of late. I'm getting a much better lather onto my brush, but it doesn't work if I don't take advantage of it at SPA. Another Knick developed in the same area as the previous one. Again, not painful, but there it is. Everywhere else was real nice, though, which includes the dreaded right-side jawline area. But my focus now is trying to solve the SPA area. I thin k I have some answers, better put them to work tomorrow and beyond. The cold-water rinse and Clubman A.S. at least improved the APPEARANCE of the chin. Pretty Outstanding, but that chin needs attention.

    My mom always "reminded" me of how much I loved bananas as a little boy-I don't care for them now.
