    It certainly does John. My Schick is a Canadian E3 with the spring fixed in position so I won't be dabbling with it. Might like to think about finding an earlier one that does open, just for fun and to kickstart my RAD again!

    Super simple shave Barry, love those!

    Thanks Joe

    Lovely recovery shave Joe, you must be feeling half human again after getting rid of all that fuzz

    Very nice Gary,

    Great report and shave John. That's one reason I avoid hard foods lately, come to think of the last I lost a filling was when some toffee detached it, no fun with a hole where a tooth should be! Good thing that you could be seen to so quickly.

    Great stories John, I guess we all love to love our dentists!

    12 May 2024: scruffy no shave day, done on purpose to test the Schick on a 2 day growth

    13 MAY 2024

    Days growth = 2

    Prep = HOT water soak x 2
    Preshave = PR cypress and Vetyver, full face prep
    Soap = Sterling Agar
    Brush = Semogue Owners’ club Cherry finest badger
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Schick E3 Canadian
    Blade = Personna day 3’ish
    Passes = 2+ then a 3rd + because I could, and was getting into the rhythm of the Schick
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    ASL = Pinaud Virgin Island Bay rum
    Scent = Red Musk
    Damage = none, not even the back of the neck

    Getting better with the Schick E3. It really needs the cap flat against the skin, which is fine on the flats but trickier in the hollows. Very light touch, small multiple passes, super smooth. Takes more time though. It sort is a glorified cartridge razor in shape. The razors with the convex barn doors work better in the hollows and would be a good option for those wanting to come away from the cartridge razors, especially one of the vintage Gillette’s....................................................................

    Have some great shaves, whatever your choice of weapon.

    Thanks Chris. Yes, it is a great feeling to be rid of my 2.5 day Mediterranean stubble. If I didn't shave for 7 days, then I woul like like the Wolfman. Well not quite, but you get the idea. I can grow a nice beard in 2 weeks.

    Glad the Schick info was useful.

    Funny what you said about the toffee: I was eating an Eatmore toffee/peanut bar - first one I had had in months. It was a bit cold and hard. On the second bite, something crunched and then as the toffee warmed up, I could feel something hard in it and I started getting twinges in my lower right jaw. After rudely spitting instead of swallowing (insert obscene joke here), I found most of my tooth in the toffee. For some odd reason, I never finished the candy bar... Toffee is a lethal weapon, I guess. It is now permanently off my list of consumables.

    Great shave, Chris!

    I think the Schick injector razor was the inspiration for the original cartridge razor - the Gillette Trac II. The general shape is the same, and for that matter, that first cartridge system slid the cartridge onto rails in the razor handle much like injecting a blade. And I bet the Gillette designers thought that that was absolutely hilarious, since the Schick injector system was probably the most popular rival to the DE blade razors Gillette specialized in.

    Another great 3017 shave Gary. Perhaps you will finish this soap sometime in July.

    SRS # 1088 - DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY - Original

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Andrey Shpakovskiy 8/8 Half+ “Hanabira” Kamosori
    Brush: Leo Frilot Custom NYR 26 mm Synthetic
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Original
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Original
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    Phenomenal Declaration Grooming shave this morning. The soap provides a wonderful lather with a very pleasant scent that periodically reappears throughout the day. The scent profile is as follows: Original is a blend of sandalwood and bergamot.” Simple and straight to the point.

    Andrey’s kamosori is one beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Once again the razor delivered a super close and comfortable shave. I always look forward to shaving with it when its turn comes up in my straight rotation.

    Hope you all have a great day. I will be getting ready for Gsme 5 tonight.

    Earlier today, my student wanted a 2 hr session so I agreed to meet 1 hr earlier at 6.
    I just got home at approximately 5 to do a quick shave. Thank goodness for shave sticks and Schick injectors. Did an error-free three passer for a close comfortable shave. I didn't worry about getting a great face lather so it was pretty translucent, but slick. Sometimes you have to go with the flow so to speak.
    The alum gave very little feedback.
    Splashed on the witch hazel and the aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.

    Well, I went for it and had 2 slices of pizza before I saw my student. I was tired of babying my stomach and had to make a break for it. It was my first substantial meal in 6 days. I figured with the grease, cheese and flour that if I held it down without pain than I can say that this saga is over. I had ginger ale to wash it down. Well, it's been 5 hours since the ingestion of 2 glorious NY Pizza slices. Conclusion: Didn't have a problem. It means that I could eat normally once again. However, I will still watch the kinds of foods that I will eat this week. However, I am glad this nasty episode is finally over. Thanks for your kind words guys.

    Sad loss for the Rangers. Their defense let the Hurricanes score 4 goals in the final period.
