Razor: 1962 (H2) Gillette Slim Adjustable @6 Blade: Perma-Sharp (3) Soap: Proraso Green A/S: Pinaud Clubman I feel that I hit the jackpot of Gillette vintage goodness with my latest razor acquisition. All four (two '62 Slims, a '72 Super 84 Adjustable, and a '67 black handled Superspeed) shave great. Not that my other Gillettes shave bad, but they are either too mild or too "angry". These four are just right. So, I packed both Slims and sent them to Chris at BRG to get re-plated. Could never figure out what I want for a birthday gift, there we go. Will do one in gold and another in two-tone, and will make sure to use them both.

My love affair with Gillette vintage razors continues. This 1961 “Flare Tip” Superspeed” is nothing like its 1960 Tech brother. The Tech is way too mild for my taste. The SS is both mild and efficient and gave me a great shave with Arko and Perma-sharp (4).
that one is 1950's,or 1954-57 to be exact.the 58 - 9 have a shorter space between the crimp and knob, the '60 up lost the lines on the knob and have a thinner/slimmer head, same as the black handle ss.the 1960 up actuallty feel more efficient to me.due to the slimmer head.
Thank you Gary, you are of course correct ! I took a second look at the base plate and realized that I mistook a "B" for a "G". So this Superspeed was indeed made in 1956.
Razor: “Pre-War” Tech (triangular lather slots) Blade: Perma-sharp (5) Soap: Proraso Green A/S: Pinaud Clubman This is a great shaver, a bit on the aggressive side (in Gillette world only). With a well used Perma-sharp, the shave was excellent, smooth and clean.
