Awesome shave Joe. Our Italian compares definitely know how to make shave soap. Yes, I don't like this weather.

Finding the right combination of DE razor, DE blade and soap will reduce the number of strokes per pass. And the number of passes needed. Once that sweet spot of maximal efficiency is found, damage should be a thing of the past

Not biting...... have enough for now...trying to whittle out the ones I don't want anymore.... i I do stumble across another one here and there... who knows...not actively looking either...etc;)

    Thanks Gary

    Lovely first outing

    Thanks Joe

I agree, at some stage I will try and liven it up a bit with a better blade

Lovely shave and post Barry. You keep coming up with new stuff in your rotation, can't remember if you have posted that OSP before

Thank you Chris. It's been a while since I added the OSP cream to my rotation. The grapefruit & menthol kick are a great duo for the spring & summer months.

Good shave this morning on Throwback Thursday. I did better from above the jawline than below, although it wasn't a TERRIBLE job down there. In a much shorter time than I thought, the Razorock Plissoft brush became a Jeeves magnet, thus I had a lot of soap to work with. Great along the cheeks&sideburns and both ends of Porcupine Alley. Down South, I recalled what I'd done in the past and cut back on strokes. Along Cactus Nation, I simply missed the central area, as well as that just to the left of the Ingrown Hairs. Carelessness-what can I say? Nice work on the sides, though. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I have to do a better job at Cactus tomorrow. Nice finish from the Stephan Bay Rum A.S. Overall-Most Outstanding.

    Good morning.

    Mühle R102
    Zorrik DE Blade (2)
    Parker Synthetic Brush
Seaforth Sea Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 39 hrs

    20240516_095808.jpg

Definitely needed a shave this morning and went with the Mühle R102 loaded with a Zorrik blade. Three passes gave me a BBS shave, but at the expense of two weeps on my chin and upper lip. Of course, it happened during my final pass going against the grain. I attribute it to having a slightly steeper angle than the sweet spot. Picked out the Seaforth Sea Spice Lime for its scent, great lather and performance. I wanted to see how little soap I can use and still have a decent lather. The lather was not voluminous, but it was still quite slick and that's fine with me. Here's my lather:

Did get alum feedback from my two weeps and some areas on my neck, but nothing crazy. Splashed on the witch hazel and a double portion of the matching aftershave and I feel refreshed and clean. Take care.

    Days growth = 1
    Ditto shave except for
Blade = Shark Super Stainless (1)
3 passes and ATG where needed

    Damage = none

Thoughts = I sense this was a better shave, easier to get well tidied up with, with less effort. Since the only change was the blade, it seems reasonable to suppose the Super Stainless trumps the Super Chrome

The Super Chrome used y’day is my last one, not sure if I am keen on giving it another outing, will see

Have a great Thursday ladies and gentlemen

Your last sentence is what caused some bad cuts on my chin. I went over the same areas too much. Trying to go easier there.

@ChrisB - It seems to me that someone is passing the buck on his own lack of technique to a comment in one of your posts. If the individual was truly honest with his assessment, these issues have been Omni present long before you joined this group.

Wonder who will be the next culprit.
