    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16 “Bow”
Brush: CRD Patriotic Swirl 26 mm Synthetic
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: FuzzyFace Soaps Bonsai
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Very nice Fougere type shave this morning. The soap paired nicely with the Gredos aftershave. Three passes to super smoothness. I did managed a couple of 10 minutes delayed weepers. No big deal. My face has felt super smooth and refreshed.

Hope you all have an enjoyable day. I am enjoying reading all the posts regarding the great series clinching comeback win last night by the NY Rangers.

Super fine shave Joe. Kreider's hat trick saved the day. Congrats! Although I am not a Ranger's fan, I wish them the best in the semi-finals.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend.

The Cella extra extra Bio shaving cream provided a wonderful this vegan version is equally as good to it's tallow sibling and like the tallow version it's slick protective and doesn't dry out and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. The mild-light fresh & Citrusy ASL is very pleasing leaving a good post shave feel.

I find the Dorco PP to be very much like the Voskhod TC which has an added teflon coating to the blade edges giving the blade it's smoothness both blades are smooth and have a good balance of aggression.

Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Boots Cucumber Moisturising Lotion.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave stuff (showing the Schick E-1 opened with the blade set on the stops):

The blade array -- Top to bottom: Vintage American-made Schick Plus Platinum, Japanese-made Supply Black Label, American Personna-made house-branded Supply White Label, standard white box cartridge of American-made Personnas:

Today's shave was 3 days after my last instead of my planned 2 days. Oh well, close enough...

I am continuing the Test Plan. At the end of my last shave, I modified The Plan. I wrote:

"I might be using the wrong razor for these tests. The all-metal Supply 2.0 has enough mass simply to plow through my whiskers regardless of the blade in it. In a very light razor, the differences might be more noticeable. So before I move on to durability, I am going to repeat these last three shaves with fresh blades in a small and light bakelite-handled vintage Schick razor. I will use my E-1 Schick so that I can continue to place rather than inject the blades to remove any possible "blade scrape" variable. "

That is what I did today - placed a fresh vintage Schick blade in my opened Schick E-1 razor. (And discovered to my horror that it was the LAST blade in that particular cartridge. Now I am going to have to dig out a new cartridge from my cache. Sob!!!)

The Arko stick and synthetic brush created a quick and plentiful lather, as usual. I then did my two standard passes of WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, then XTG on the face and WTG on the neck.

The blade shaved just as easily and smoothly in the lightweight Schick E-1 as it did in my heavier all-metal Supply 2.0. The Schick razor was a bit noisier (a bit of audible rasping) coupled with a tiny sensation of vibration in the handle as the razor cut through the visible 3-day growth of whiskers. None of that is noticeable with the much more massive Supply 2.0 razor. However, the actual blade performance and overall shave were otherwise identical. Two passes took me from hobo to a DFS near BBS with no errors and silent alum.

Based on today's shave, I am not going to bother testing the other blade brands in the Schick but will move straight on to testing for durability - number of shaves each brand gives before getting tuggy. For this, I will try to go back to daily shaves to avoid running the test until next fall...

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

    18 May Saturday

    26 hours

Same setup software and hardware continuing the Shark blade mini focus

Started off giving the Shark Super Chrome (2) another outing. Draggy in the first pass

Switched back to the Shark Super Stainless (3) for the rest of the shave. Much smoother

Can’t conclude anything from this small sample, other than that I am glad I have finished the Shark Super Chrome. Weird label = Super Chrome Super Stainless. Talk about consumer confusion

For me, the Super Stainless comes out on top, but still, will be happy to finish this tuck

Minor weeper right side of mouth, too many strokes per pass

Great super smooth shave anyway, so can’t complain

Have a great Saturday ladies and gents

Lovely shave Joe. I have yet to master the skill of 10 minute delayed weep ;) When I weep, I weep straight away Lol! Is that a straight shave phenomenon perhaps?

Great shave and pic of the opened Schick E-1 John. Interesting reading!

Great shave this morning, bringing out Hub City Soaps(Pages). A minute at the loading dock and the Clubman Pinaud looked ready to go. For such a small brush, I got a nice amount over my face and neck. Clean and clear all over. One of the good features of Hub City Soaps is Goat Milk-designed to make aging skin look younger. I love a soap that does that. Course it's nice to include SOME scent in there, and with Pages you get the feel of a library full of old books, as you read by flickering light. @wristwatchb sent us a picture of that kind of scene the other day. I believe the gentleman had something goofy in mind though, not a Hub City Soaps. Anyway, back to the shave-goose eggs on cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. 2 passes. The Pages aftershave does what an aftershave is supposed to do, but it smells different than the Pages soap. They need to improve the scent some. That said, just a fine shave. As Outstanding As It Gets.

As previously mentioned, I looked forward to this dual shave. It's been a few months since I took Artie out to shave. Also, it's the first time I used the TSD soap with my SharpeShave bowl because I wanted to see if the lather would be different. Truth be told, I was meh about this soap because it never stayed put in my other bowls because it didn't had anything to grab onto to keep it in place and thus it made it quite frustrating to bowl lather. My only other option was to load the brush off the puck, but I had to work it to get an OK lather. Well, I have to apologize to TSD because this bowl made a beautiful, rich and creamy lather. I was impressed with the soap's slickness as well. Therefore, my opinion has changed on this soap. However, the scent could still have been more pronounced. Here's my lather:

    20240518_104231.jpg

Three error-free passes with Artie gave my a nice solid shave. Three passes with the Rockwell T for my headshave resulted in an über smooth dome, but did get a weep.
The alum provided no feedback except on my dome. Splashed the witch hazel and matching aftershave to finish this session. Take care.
