Thanks Gary. I usually have my shave setup on the counter the night before. Do you do that as well Gary or do you choose your setup on the day you shave?

Two changes for today from the week-end lineup, so I'll do the whole thing:

    prep-Dove Care + 4 Men(or whatever it's called)Bodywash in shower
    shave-Hub City Soap Co.(Pages)
    brush-Crown King(Duo Spindle Tali) synthetic
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Hub City Soaps(Pages)

Once again, a great shave. I'm glad to add Hub City Soaps Co. to my "I Can't Be Without This" list. I did have some "polka-dots" on both sides of Porcupine Alley, but the skin-loving aftershave and cold-water rinse(well, not in that order, lol) solved them. Other than that, very well done all around. A little too much astroturf(whiskers)left down around the Adam's Apple at Cactus Nation. Will be worked on tomorrow. Closed out with Millionaire cologne. Most Outstanding.

    and thanks Gary

    Good looking set up Gary

Superb! Two goose eggs in a row!

Interesting, I have held off buying those modern SE razors, thinking they might be more aggressive, but what you are saying is the opposite. I can handle my Schick e-3 well enough, but it needs concentration, and I don't think I get as close as with a more conventional DE razor

Sunday 19 May no shave day

    20 May 2024

2 days growth easily taken care of with the Gillette Popular, new Gillette Platinum, 10049 and Sterling Agar. Boring but effective

Alum told me I had done a great job and not overdone things, Thayers, followed by Fine Latigo

Nice and easy. The little Popular OC never disappoints, even though it is technically an OC is gets close without being threatening

Looking forward to the next weeks' shaves

Aaahhh, I don't find the Stoylin Agar to be boring-it's nice. Just need the right aftershave to go with it, I suppose. I have Latigo coming up for tomorrow and Wednesday, course it won't be with Stoylin Agar soap. :).

    SRS # 1092 - Sample Soap Sunday - Agar

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
Brush: CRD Sky Dragon 26 mm Synthetic
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Stirling Agar
    Aftershave: Stirling Agar
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Outstanding Oud shave this morning. The Stirling Agar may be the darkest of all the Oud scents that I have in either of my dens. Unfortunately, it appears that the software is no longer available on the Stirling website.

I had a very nice error free three pass shave with my first straight, acquired in 2002. The end result was a smooth and comfortable shave.

SE Shave # 386 - DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY - Nefertiti

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Ever-Ready 1912 SE
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Semogue Hereditas - Boar
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Nefertiti
    Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Nerfertiti
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I decided to bust out a software combination that I have not used in a while. The DG/CL collaboration is such a wonderful scent. The scent description taken from the Maher Ofactive from the Chatillon Lux website is as follows: “Queen Nefertiti was known to wear a perfume of honey and orchid leaf, so in this fragrance, I combine those warm tones with a crescendo of coniferous kyphi incense, a glissando of jasmine, sparkling terpenes, and the percussive base of oud, immortelle, vetiver and musk.”

Looking back at my records I have now used this software for 10 shaves. The reason I checked the shave total was due to the amount of soap remaining in the tub. The tub is listed at four ounces, which would be 112 grams. The tub minus the cover and soap is 35 grams. The total amount of soap remaining in the tub is 67 grams which is a little befuddling. Since I use between 1.5 to 2.0 grams of soap per shave I would think I would have about 90 grams of soap remaining. Something is amiss. Perhaps the tub was a bit short on soap. Nothing I can do about it but enjoying the remainder of the soap.

The resulting shave was just fantastic. As usual with the DG/CL soap collaboration I was rewarded with a nice lather with a great scent and superb slickness.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Outstanding alternative Cella shave. I received a tub of both Cella’s from my daughter for my birthday. I need to give the Cella Bio a go.

Thank you Chris. Nah, the delayed weeps happen with other razors as well. Guess to weeps are trying to keep me from getting to cocky.
