Thank you Gary. I have two flare tips, this one with aluminum handle, and a 1956 with a brass handle. Both shave about the same but the brass one is indeed more solid and feels a tad more substantial. I agree, they are the best Gillette razors - at least in their respective shaving range. Although I am a sucker for adjustables…

Thanks Gary. Correct the 1939 Popular needs to opened manually, I guess it lost its "spin" sometime in the last few decades. Great little razor though, even though it's tarnished and well used.
