    Update to yesterday's shave:

    After all my comments about the Supply SE injector being almost nick-proof, I looked in the mirror this afternoon and noticed actual dried blood on my face from an actual cut just under the point of my chin! When I cleaned the blood off, I found the cut was very shallow but a bit less than 1/2 inch long. Looking at it, I had obviously slid the razor sllightly sideways instead of forward right after setting it down on my skin.

    Conclusion: the SE injector generally won't catch skin and nick you while travelling in a normal manner over the areas you want to shave, even if you don't keep your skin completely taut, but it will still slice you if you move the blade sideways on your skin. So it is "almost nick-proof" but is not "complete and total idiot proof".

    Just thought I should confess this, especially to Chris @ChrisB ... ;)

    thanks Joe

    Thanks John, nice to hear others' opinions, do like the idea of manually swapping blades and being able to clean it out better. Time will tell!

    thanks Gary

    Fine shave and setup Gary

    Nice shave again Joe, can't say I have heard of that razor before

    Ah well, nick proof but not slice proof, all good!

    Days growth = 1

    The Rocket HD and Agar and Pura Setola continues for a while

    Prep = 3 x warm water soaks
    Preshave = PR cypress and Vetyver
    Soap = Agar over the PR preshave
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Rocket HD
    Blade = Bolzano (1)
    Passes = 2+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = Fine latigo

    Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme
    Score = 9 / 10

    Damage = none

    Thoughts = Slick lather is better, especially when applied directly over the Preshave. Bolzano, like the Sharks are made in Egypt. I much prefer the Bolzano over the Sharks

    Have a great Friday and run up to the weekend

    Thanks Chris. It's the same razor like my Van der Hagen. They are both rebranded Weishi razors.

    Not as good a shave as yesterday, but quite acceptable. Nice work at the loading dock, as more soap jumped onto the Stoylin brush. Clean and clear most everywhere, but for a couple tiny spots("polka-dots") bordering North and South Porcupine on the right side, and some unnecessary redness along the jawline, same side. What do I mean bu unnecessary. I was done with that side and just wanted to do a final "touch-up". I snatched defeat out of the hands of victory, to use the sports phrase. Never should have happened(the redness). 2 passes. Good work with the Agadir A.S. and "Spirit" Millionaiere cologne to close out. Pretty Outstanding. I look forward to a better shave tomorrow.

    Good morning.

    1955 Gillette RedTip
    Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (7)
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    Pedro Fiasco's Limoncello SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 1 day.

    I went with my Gillette RedTip this morning. It's a mild razor, but it gets the job done. Today was no exception. I decided to go with the Limoncello because it's a nice, mild scent and it lathers well. Here is my lather:

    Three passes gave me a close, comfortable shave without any mishaps. I had very little alum feedback. Finished with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. Take care.

    Nice shave set up Joe. Recently I've realised how much I'm getting to like my milder razors.
    That's why I like my parker collection, they are somewhere in between mild-medium aggression with good efficiency. I shall be returning to them next month.

    Thanks Barry. I do prefer more aggressive razors, but my collection tips toward mild to medium aggression. My most aggressive razor is the Mühle R102 and I enjoy shaving with it. It's a matter of perspective because I shave with shavettes and straights that I don't consider any safety razor aggressive. Yes, there are different degrees of aggression on safety razors, but I don't have a fear of any of them.

    I don't fear any of my razors either, I actually like to use my more assertive razors for head shaving now. My focus using the ming shi 2000s focus this month, which is aggressive has giving me some sublime headshaves. I'll be returning to use my beloved parker adjustable injector next month for my combined face & head shaves along with my parker variant which are great headshavers.

    Fridday May 24 (morning) - Simplicity & Injector Blade Focus

    Prep: Hot face wash with Aleppo olive oil soap with 20% bay laurel oil

    Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE "nickproof" comb plate / vintage American-made Schick Plus Platinum (5)

    Soap: Arko stick

    Brush: Supply Silvertip Synthetic 24mm

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse - and nothing

    Last shave: Wednesday evening - 39 hours

    Today's shave stuff (and probably every shave to monthend and beyond:

    IMG_20240504_233324_kindlephoto-963676277.jpg

    Testing injector blade durability -- onward and upward... This was shave 5 on the vintage Schick blade; lots more to go.

    The Arko stick and synthetic brush created a quick and plentiful lather, as usual. I then did my two standard passes of WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, then XTG on the face and WTG on the neck.

    The two passes resulted in an error-free DFS. I had no nicks, cuts or visible razorburn, the alum was silent, and I had no need for any post-shave products.

    I am already getting tired of Arko though. It is an excellent soap for the mechanics of shaving but is not terribly inspiring. A famous restaurant critic once killed a fancy New York City restaurant with a one sentence review: "We ate; we did not dine.". That pretty much sums up Arko.

    Hope everyone had a very good week and is heading into a great weekend!

    Out of the two modern adjustable injectors that I have in my collection the Parker is the mildest and considerably lighter in weight compared to my Supply V2 adjustable which is more assertive. However, that's not to say the parker isn't efficient enough it provides a comfortable close shave.My only gripe with the Supply V2 is I find its slightly too weighty which could have been balanced more to make the razor more comfortable to hold. Apart from that it's an amazing shaving tool.
