    26a May 2024 1400 90.jpg

    Prep = 3 x cold water soak
    Preshave = Proraso
    Soap = Sterling Agar over the top of the PreShave
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Lady Eversharp
    Blade = SE, not sure which
    Passes = 2+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    ASL = Fine Latigo
    Scent = Black Oud
    Damage = none

    This Lady Eversharp was kindly PIF'ed to me last year by @Enrico in April

    SE 4 800-100 b.jpg

    Finally time to try it out!
    I had already placed a blade in it soon after acquiring it so can’t remember which it was

    I like the long handle, easy to find a pivot balance point and being round it is easier to rotate around the curves than the Schick Hydromagic or the Schick Adjustable M3

    Overall very enjoyable shave, as I continue to tease out the last of the Sterling Agar

    Have a great Sunday one and all

  8. Fine shave this morning. The OSP "Old Gold" soap has been very patient and deserved another set from me. Lathered really nicely from the brush spinwork. It looked like I was developing some Polka-Dot issues along the left side of N. Porcupine, but they soon evaporated. Elsewhere, clean&clear. 2 passes. No cuts and Knicks, but the doggone Polka-Dots, as mentioned. I forgot that the New Spice A.S. can create a Niagra Falls scene if not careful.I wasn't careful. I'll do better with that tomorrow. Most Outstanding.

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #548
    C-MON P J Michels
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs.

    It's a rare consecutive straight razor shave. I picked the C-Mon because it is super sharp.
    Three error-free passes gave me a BBS result.
    I went with Angora Soaps for this afternoon's shave. It smells nice and makes a great lather. Here's my lather:

    I had virtually no alum feedback. Finished with my normal post-shave routine. Take care.

  15. Great shave reports and pics, gents!

    That is a beautiful British Gillette set, Gary. Both the razor and the box look nearly mint!

    And I am curious about that straight razor, Joe. Is it vintage or made by a modern craftsman?

    Today's shave stuff (and probably every shave to monthend and beyond:

    IMG_20240504_233324_kindlephoto-963676277.jpg

    I had a bit more of a break between shaves this time than I am aiming for this month. Oh well...

    Testing injector blade durability -- ever onward ... This was shave 6 on the vintage Schick blade; still lots more to go.

    The Arko stick and synthetic brush created the usual quick and plentiful lather. I then did my two standard passes of WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, then XTG on the face and WTG on the neck.

    The first pass would have been sufficient to give me a cleanshaven appearance. I only did the second one because I am trying to keep my shaves totally consistent for my blade test.

    The two passes resulted in an error-free DFS. I had no nicks, cuts or visible razorburn, the alum was silent, and I had no need for any post-shave products.

    Minor point of interest: A few years ago now, a 30DCer (Chris @Bama Samurai) did an Arko test to see how long a stick would last. He managed a full six months of daily shaves on a fresh stick of Arko before the remaining stub was too small to handle.

    Hope everyone had a very good weekend and is heading into a great week!
  17. Thanks John. Based on my recent research this razor was made prior to WWll. My guess would be that it was made somewhere in the 1930's. I have another C-Mon razor and I think it was made in the 1950's. I will be shaving with that one later today.
