1. Found a 70% full bottle of oooold Aqua Velva Herbal that has evaporated to the point the green-ness has turned to a potent powder/musk (at least I hope it wasn't like this originally...imagine a superconcentrated Avon Deep Woods...yikes). Adding a neutral alcohol can't make it worse and might help it, so what would you suggest that is readily available? Thanks...

  2. I've heard of people using vodka. but also, what about using witch hazel?

  3. Wouldn't WH impart a slightly different odor? It does have one.

  4. Added a little vodka, that knocked it down nicely. It's not Deep Woods anymore, I can pick out some of the notes Basenotes says are in there.

  5. Reds 190 Grain Alcohol.
It's a cheaper version of Everclear. I make my own aftershave, and underarm splash concoction with this and Witch Hazel.

  6. Witch hazel does add a strong note.

  7. I use Sea Breeze astringent, not witch hazel. it has a cooling effect like menthol, and you can get generic versions which are also pretty good. For menthol aftershaves, might work out pretty good. Or for adding a menthol-like kick to regular aftershaves.

  8. Everclear is outlawed here in Florida, that proof of stuff probably is too.

  9. I guess too many college Frat Boys getting stupid on the beaches with that stuff? I would never drink it.
Me, I use it mostly to replace under arm deodorants.

  10. That's my guess...it IS Florida after all.

I often use 91% iso as a deodorant. Lasts all day.

  11. If you are willing to order something, I’d recommend perfumers’ alcohol. It is made for this purpose.
