    Days growth = 1 ½ late afternoon shave, felt different to my usual morning shaves
    Usual Prep and Preshave
    Cream = TOBS Oud with glycerine
    Brush = The Vulfix 20mm knot pure badger
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Tech made in Argentina
    Blade = Bolzano (2) >>> switched to Kai (2) >>>
    switched to Schick Hydromagic L1 with Schick SE Proline B-20 SS (2) to finish the job

    Passes = 3 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    ASL = Proraso Rinfrescante
    Scent = none, later afternoon evening shave

    Damage = none but this was a difficult shave, trying to adapt back to the very light Tech. I will be using the softer soaps and croaps with less aggressive razors, because they don’t protect as well as Cella, Sterling and the like, but this little razor was just not doing the job. Tuggy, so half way through the 1st pass I thinned down the lather some more, hmm, not good enough, so popped in my Kai, still not feeling like it was getting the job done. So after the 2nd pass I decided to stop playing around reached out for the Schick L1 to finish off the job. Overall too many strokes but no damage was done
    I will hold off till Monday morning and see what happens then

    Hope you all had / are having a great weekend!

    Super shave and enviable lather Joe!

    Great shave, looking forward to the focus on the Blades for the month of June, my own focus will be less strict I am afraid!

    Another fine shave this morning with the Bay Rum Team. About a minute at the Loading Dock with the Crown King Synthetic brush. Not as much soap is being loaded as I'd like, but that is to be expected, as all that's left is along the sides. I find the need to tip the puck to its side for best results. The shave itself was clean and clear most everywhere. I could have done A BIT better at the dreaded right sideburn area(on the jawine), but it was OK. Course we all know that's been a tough area for me to negotiate. But pleased overall. 2 passes. Another Goose Egg day for cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. Stephan Bay Rum A.S. and Spirit Millionaire cologne again to finish. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Thank you Chris! I enjoy bowl lathering. I wanted to make sure that I had enough lather for the dome, face and neck shaves.

    Excellent shave Chris! It's OK to change hardware during a shave. The ultimate goal is to get a close, comfortable shave without any blood. You evidently did so with your shave. I have had to switch blades or refresh a straight in the middle of a shave. You have to do what's necessary to get a good result.

    Thank you Joe. The Yaqi Rainbow Brown Synthetic is a great brush for a synthetic it still has a good amount of backbone and is suitable for bowl, face & head lathering.

    I went for a straight razor shave and picked out one of my Aust Razors. It still sharp and always gives a nice shave. Three error-free passes gave me a smooth, close and comfortable shave. I went with the Van der Hagen Soap to try and finish it. I succeeded. It really is a good shave soap. It has a mild, clean scent that can go with any aftershave. It is slick and easy to lather. It is also inexpensive. It's roughly $2.00 US per oz. Here's my lather:

    I didn't have any alum feedback. Finished with the witch hazel and the pleasant AQ Ice Blue aftershave. Take care.

    SRS # 1101 - 1102 - Gemini Shave - PAA Atomic Bay Rum

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
    Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts 26 mm Tuxedo
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Aftershave: FreyjasMagic Thor’s Hammer Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    For the past two years, during the month of June, I have presented here my Gemini shaves. Under this format, the shaves consisted of the same software and hardware for two consecutive days before changing to a new combination. As a result I would feature 15 different software and hardware combinations for the month. This year I have decided to go with using only two different software while changing the hardware every two days. Therefore, the software features for this month shall be the PAA Atomic Bay Rum and Tim’s Soap Busta Blend.

    I will be posting my shave pictures on the second day of the rotation. The shave the last two days featured my first straight and the PAA Atomic Bay Rum. Both shaves rewarded me with a close and comfortable shave without any issues including the famed polka dot or whomedoo.

    Looking forward to see many fine shaves this month gentlemen.

    Joe, @Trigger, another fine introduction to the month.
