Shave #18. The edge is holding up well on this Non-JMP Fili. Honed with very flat stones.
I had a very smooth 2 pass shave with zero issues, on 6 days of growth. Excellent razor

    Brush- @oscar11 Special. Synthetic knot.
    Soap- ARKO

I think this must be one or your favorite straights - especially sweet being an excellent save of a razor that is often maligned. :happy088:

You are correct. It is maligned a lot. But, after JMP died, and no longer put his name on the blade, the blades quality started to go downhill. From what I remember, and correct me if I am wrong, but this model was one of the first post JMP Fili's out there. They could have still been using quality steel, before switching. I don't recall exactly which Non-JMP Fili's were considered junk.
This is the reason I am keeping track of the shaves with this blade, where I don't with others. How many excellent shaves can be had from a non-JMP Fili? BTW, I don't use stropping pastses on this one, and I properly honed on flat stones.

    Saturday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    De Vergulde Hand Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #449
    Gravjura 5/8
    CWR
Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave

The De Vergulde Hand Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #449 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gravjura 5/8 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
