Thanks Gary. It's been fun shaving with open blade razors on a regular basis once again.

Thanks again, Joe. Although I don’t have a humongous soap inventory such as yourself, I am in a NB mode for this year. Of course, that can change. Lol! However, I really don't see me buying anything this year. Without counting the samples, I want to get below 8 soaps before I would even think of adding more stock.

Travel kit already packed, ready to hit the road

So today was Satsuma, 10049, white bowl, Gillette rocket, Astra superior stainless (1). Not fond of the way the excessive wax smears really glues the paper to the blade. Virgin Island Bay rum did a good imitation of @Paul Turner Niagara Falls. No matter, nice and mild!

Late afternoon shave, 32 hours growth
    Warm water shave, 13C outside
    Rocket HD
    Elios (1)
Wet face, Tabac shave stick, Razorock plissoft
No alum, (didn't bother to bring it)
Thayers in a small travel container
    PR rinfrescante

for the initial pass the lather was too thick
Tuggy, trying to take too much off in the first pass. One tiny weeper taken care if with cold water rinse
Three passes and tentative buffing were needed
    Binned the Elios blade

It will be an interesting week of shaves

Have a great week ahead one and all

Oh no, too bad. I didn't know Clubman's Bay Rum has the large spout, too. Course it doesn't matter to me, as I won't be buying Pinaud's Bay Rum(too heavy on the clove, I keep reading).

    One change from yesterday:

    Prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(Fresh Wave).

Fine shave. The Barbasol is coming out more cloud-like now.Is that a COinCIdence to the fact that it's getting pretty low? Anyway, cloud is better than snake with creams/foams. For me, that is. Shave itself was clean and clear, all the way through. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. Could have done a little better at the jawline. Will focus on that tomorrow(course tomorrow I return to shave soap/brush). 1 pass. A little less of a Niagra Falls persuasion with the Royal Copenhagen today-good sign. Halston 4 Men cologne to finish. Super Duper Outstanding.

:happy088: not seen one yet, best not to drive at night

Thanks Joe. Could have been better with better prep and thinner lather. Next time perhaps.

Terrific shave Gary. Too bad that you had to throw out the soap. I might have just taken small bits of it and transfer to another bowl to lather every time you needed a shave. Hey, you have one less soap in your inventory and that's what counts.

June 10 SOTE Head and Face Shave

    Good evening.

    Shavette Shave # 555
    Persona Hairshaper Blade (8)
    1959 Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Voskhod DE Blade (fresh)
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Brush
Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SS and AS Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 25 hrs
    Dome Turf: 3 days

    20240609_230051.jpg

Did a 3 pass shave on my face and neck with my Dovo shavette. I usually get about 20 shaves with Persona Hairshaper Blades, but I feel this one may not be anywhere near that amount. It gave me a very nice shave so I can't complain. I haven't used a Voskhod blade in years and I remember that they were smooth and sharp. This blade was sharp, but not as smooth as I remember. Still, it also gave me a great headshave on 3 passes and touchups. Oh, there were no errors this session.
Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SS gives a nice, easy, slick lather. Here's my lather:

    20240610_191915.jpg

I didn't get any alum feedback so that's always nice.
Finished this shave like I always do. I like evening shaves so I don't
have to rush in the morning. Take care.
