Sometimes I'll take the last bits of a soap (that I like using) and press 'em onto a new puck. Generally works OK for me if the new puck is bloomed.

i did just that,quite dry,pressed in nicely,thought i would get 3-4 good lathers out of it..those big boars do big damage..though i bloomed it all the other times..
