    Nice shave,Chris.

And what Joe said about Stirling -- it's one of the easiest soaps to lather too. Hmm, I will have to dig some of mine out now that I am no longer restricting myself to Arko...

    Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 synthetic

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse

And last time's photo, to show what a difference cleaning the lens can make:

    IMG_20240614_172953_1_kindlephoto-415956188.jpg

Today's shave replayed my last one. Twenty swirls of the damp synthetic brush on the Italian almond-scented "Red Green Duct Tape Special" frankensoap primed it for an excellent face lathering. I had enough soap in the brush for my two passes with enough left over to cover my face a couple more times.

My usual two passes (one WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, and the second XTG on the face and WTG on the neck) gave me a decent cleanshaven appearance. The alum was a bit warm but nothing too remarkable. No blood or razorburn of any kind.

The vintage Schick injector blade is still okay after 12 shaves. However, while it is still smooth, I think the sharpness is definitely falling off somewhat -- my usual two passes gave me a cleanshaven appearance but some areas were still a bit rough to the touch. It no longer leaves me nearly BBS after one pass as it did on the first couple shaves. I am thinking that I will do a couple more shaves with it and then bin it as "still usable in an emergency but no longer great".

Hope everyone has had a good week so far!

Yes, it definitely is a very easy shave soap to lather. I recommend it to new wetshavers.

Thanks John. It is a definitely a unique razor, but I will treasure it for the rest of my days. I had spoken to him on the phone months ago in the presence of Joe C. and he sounded like he wasn't himself. It was if I interrupted him and that he wasn't glad to hear from me. I can only surmise what may have happened other than what his son posted on Jeff's page. Apparently, Jeff had a severe reaction to a Covid injection. It wasn't the vaccine, but it was the monoclonal one. He sold his blue Triumph because he can't drive anymore. So, this leads me to guessing he has motor coordination problems so that he can't use his straights. Again, I am not 100% certain, but that's my logical assumption based on the facts.

Super Supply Shave John. I believe you probably would get more shaves on the blade if you shaved more frequently. However, everyone has their reasons on their specific shaving schedules.
