June 22, 2024 Wolfman WR1 OC Ti (0.74mm) wutg Triad Ti Gillette 7 O’clock black Paladin SV Manna di Sicilia Soap and After Shave Happy Saturday Everyone!!! I planned to bounce around through a few soaps but when I saw the SV Manna di Sicilia sitting on the shelf, I just knew it would be the next target. The scent is simply fantastic opening with citrus notes and drying down into a wonderfully balanced woody fragrance. I had forgotten just how well SV soaps work for me. The performance was superb. I am starting off with 87 grams of soap so we will see how long this one takes. Take care and have a great day.
This week's theme is Superlative Steel, razors that take both an extremely sharp, smooth edge and hold the edge for a long time. The weather is warm so I added liquid menthol to the Arlington as well using cold water to make the lather. There are few more razors that fall under the Superlative Steel catagory and they will show up next week. I own two Riga Razors and the both have fantastic razors, they take amazing sharp edges and hold them. They are both perfectly flat and join to hone on the razor occasion when I refresh the edge. This 7/8 is represents both and if I had to pick only one razor it would be this or my Dorko. I purchased this 7/8 Dorko NOS and the factory edge was wonderful, she has only been touched up on the stones once. It would be hard choice between this one the above Riga Razor as my desert island razor. This 8/8 Friodur is also extra long but is easy is a joy to shave with. She is stainless steel and takes a fine edge and holds it for a long time. I own three 6/8 Dovo razors, all of them take fantastic edges and hold them. This is the newest addition and the factory edge is impressive. I do not know why Dovo gets so much criticism, I am 3 for 3 on my Dovo razors. Next up was my 8/8 Grim Butcher full hollow. It is a modern interpretation of the classic Wade and Butcher. She still has her factory edge. Sunday was time for soap variety and I went with Stirling Electric Sheep, ofcourse I added liquid menthol. This is a Koraat 14 2.0, double bellied 8/8 full hollow. She is one of three Koraats I own and this one is the best steel of the three. Always a joy to shave with.

Sunday, June 23 Vicco Turmeric "Foam"~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic~~Wolfman WR1 .74 Ti/Sharp Star~~Murray & Lanman Florida Water From an undisclosed location, I present this "home away from home" shave. I have no clue from whence this Indian "Foam" came, but I am here to say, it's really great. The Titanium Wolfy has almost no "heft", therefore pressing must be eschewed. Fresh Sharp Star is always a smooth experience. Finished with a healthy splash of mentholated Florida Water. Rained like cats and dogs all night and a cool front has arrived. 71˚ Feels like...
Monday, June 24 Chiseled Face Civet~~Somerset Simpson 58~~Wolfman WR1 .74 Ti/Sharp Star~~Royall Lyme Back in the Heartland. Today's shave was wonderful. Same razor/blade as yesterday. Making serious headway with the Civet. Splashed on some wonderful Bermuda juice.

Wednesday, June 26 Chiseled Face Civet~~Semogue 2012 SE Mistura~~Cooper MonoBilt/Sharp Star~~Guerlain Jicky Civet soap is showing signs of a donut hole...semi-translucent. The Semogue can whip up suds as well as anything else in my stable. The Cooper mowed down the 48 hour stubble. Quite noisily, if I may say. Sean Connery's favorite stank (maybe @Keithmax as well) to finish.
