Preshave = PR Cypress and Vetyver
Soap = Sterling Bay Rum
Brush = Semogue OC cherry
Bowl = coconut bowl
Razor = Gillette Flare tip
Blade = KAI (1)
Passes = 2+. I am generally combining WTG and XTG in many areas. Left handed ATG on the left side of the face for fun. Enough superb lather left over for the back of the neck
Post = Usual CWR, rinse, pat dry, Thayers.
No alum, not needed
ASL = Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum
Scent = Guerlain pour homme
Score = 9.9/ 10. Why not a 10? Well there has to be room for improvement, right?

Damage = None

Thoughts = The KAI brought out the best from the Flare Tip. Superb edge, smooth, way better than the Big Ben. I think the Big Ben might be able to tame a long OC type razor, but for me is not suited to the Flare Tip

Today's shave went fine overall, but it was rough at the beginning down at Cactus Nation(neck). Redness was forming, and I don't know what to call it, a cut or a Knick. It was painless, but scary just the same. The cold-water rinse and Proraso A.S. saved it from further damage. Otherwise, 0:50 at the Loading Dock, and clean&clear in most places except for Cactus. The jawline required a little extra work. 2 passes. I put a litte too much of the Proraso A.S. on, especially st Cactus. Thus it felt hard at first, but it's softening down at this time. I'll have to be real careful down at Cactus tomorrow. Today gets a Pretty Outstanding result but boy it could have been worse.

Another gorgeous weather day today which is perfect for our annual trip to the Subways Series at Citifield. It features the Evil Empire vs the Amazon’s. For those of you not familiar with the NY sports landscape, it is the NY Yankees vs the NY Mets.

I was up early as the missus still has a few more days of work before her summer vacation. My son completed school yesterday. He will be moving on to the high school in September.

Following a quick H.I.T workout of kettlebell swings and Power Wheel Rollouts I took a ten minute dip in the pool to cool off. Following a nice shower I had a nice three pass shave with the Thistle straight and the wonderful lather of the Stirling soap. Everything worked according to plan. No errors or irritation.

A challenging shave John. I have used both the styptic stick and roll on. Currently, using the roll on. It seems to work fine, does not provide the same customary sting of the stick. Sometimes even with the roll on, the crimson is a little tough to stop. I think in that regard the stick works a little better. The roll on may be a little more convenient, less messy in storage.
