    Friday June 28 (morning) - Just Shaving June & Injector Blade Focus

    Prep: Hot face wash with Aleppo olive oil soap with 20% bay laurel oil

    Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE "nickproof" comb plate / vintage American-made Schick Plus Platinum (14)

    Soap: Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender

    Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 synthetic

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Fine Lavender splash

    Last shave: Sunday morning - 5 days

    I like lavender scents. Mike's Hungarian Lavender soap originally had a strong straight lavender scent. However, after sitting in my cupboard barely used for five to ten years, it is now an unscented tallow soap. A very good tallow soap though with ingredients including not just beef tallow but also lanolin, glycerin, coconut oil and kokum butter. It still makes a slick lather with good glide, excellent protection and a decent post-shave feeling. Pity about the lack of scent -- it now smells much like the suet cakes I put in the birdfeeders...

    My usual two passes removed five days of whisker growth, leaving me cleanshaven again. Overall a DFS with no blood and little feedback from the alum. Which was interesting because I forgot to change the blade I thought was getting too dull last time. Obviously my poor and bloody last shave was entirely due to my faulty technique and not due to any defect in the blade.

    I finished off by trying my bottle of Fine Accoutrements Classic Lavender aftershave. Finally, a nice strong lavender scent to start my day!

    I will try to get one last shave in this month and also make it the 15th and last shave with this blade.

    Hope everyone had a good week leading into a great weekend!

    Days growth = 1

    Prep = hot water soak x 3
    Preshave = PR Cypress and Vetyver
    Cream/Soap = Maca Root and Aloe
    Brush = Omega EVO
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Flare tip
    Blade = Kai (4), binned
    Passes = 3+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = Fine Latigo

    Scent = Spirit Santal Sandalwood EdT
    Score = 9 / 10

    Damage = None

    Thoughts = Kai getting dull. Draggy, needing more strokes per pass. Definitely not as crisp on day 1. Feels like the Big Ben felt on day 2. Therefore this was relegated to the bin. Mental note: 3 days max with the Kai

    Great start to yet another Friday

    Have a super day and start to the weekend lads

    Back with Barbasol/Stoylin Coniferous(w/menthol). Fine overall shave. I had more trouble down at Cactus Nation, but had the presence of mind to make it look good in the end. Same thing with the jawline-gave me trouble at first, but I just kept at it. One pass. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. The Coniferous w/Menthol is a nice choice for early summer. Closed with "One Man Show" cologne. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good morning.

    Straight Razor Shave #558

    Hembree-Maggard Timberwolf Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS
    TSD M Bomb
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

    What a wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes gave me an error-free BBS result. The alum feedback was minimal.
    Of course, Stirling Spice soap never fails on performance. I decided to add a little more M Bomb as compared to yesterday. It was beyond medium strength, but just short of Cryogen Nirvana. However, the tingling residual effect was a good 20 minutes beyond the shave. The 4th non-shaving lather pass helped the longevity of the menthol sensation.
    Here's my lather:

    20240628_104526.jpg

    I really hydrated this lather so that I had to tamp it down to rid the air bubbles and make it a shave ready lather. Mission accomplished.
    Finished the shave with the application of the witch hazel and the fine matching aftershave. Take care.
