    June 28 Evening Headshave

    Good evening.

    2 Suneko DE Blades (3)
    J T Spartan Synthetic Brush

Yes, I know that it's my second shave today, but I needed a headshave and didn't want to wait until morning. Brought out my ShakeSharp once again. I only needed 2 passes plus touchups for a BBS shave. I felt a sharp pain on the back of my neck, but it turned out to be a tiny weeper. I thought it was worse. Lol. However, the alum let me know that this shave was super close.
I went with the Soap Commander Honor soap. I know that it's in a Stirling tub, but it's a small sample that Joe C. gave me awhile back and didn't have any place to store it. Here's my lather:

Finished the shave in my usual manner. Take care.

Beautiful pic, never seen the Schick blades before

    Lovely!

    thanks Joe

Lovely shave, lather and pics Joe.

Never heard of the Shake sharp before, I have read it takes SE and DE blades.
Sharpen itself? Does it really do that? Interesting

Another simple and classis shave Barry, nice.

Thanks Chris. When these razors came out, only thick carbon blades were used so the honing stone incorporated in the razor kept those blades sharp. It's recommended to use 2 DE blades to match the thickness of the old carbon blades. Since stainless steel blades were made, the ShakeSharp razor fell out of favor because stainless steel blades lasted longer without honing them.
The DeHaven is another ShakeSharp razor that only used proprietary blades. I am not sure if DE blades can be used in that razor unless you modify the blades.

Real nice shave this morning(Sat). A minute at the Loading Dock. Good spread all over with the Stoylin brush(it may be small, but it packs a wallop). Clean and clear on the cheeks&sideburns. Ditto N. Porcupine(over the upper lip). A little less so at the jawline and upper Cactus, but still OK. We say technique trumps tools here, but Mike's is a highly ranked shavesoap. Well liked. Might make it to my "I Can't Be Without This" list. I gave the Osage Rub an extra couple shakes, and it sure looked like the thing needed it(them),.As we know, Osage is on my list. Closed out with "One Man Show" cologne. Super Duper Outstanding.

    June 29 SOTA

    Good afternoon.

    Rockwell 6C ( plate #5 )
    Feather DE Blade (3)
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    TSD Orange SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

    20240629_152537.jpg

I decided to do a nice easy shave with my Rockwell 6C. I usually check what blade is in the razor, but I didn't. I just shaved like I normally do and did a 3 pass error-free BBS shave. I was surprised that I had a Feather in the razor, because it was it smooth. If I had known from the start, then maybe I wouldn't be so cavalier. Lol!

I went with the TSD Orange soap. I didn't use that much and got a decent amount of lather. It wasn't thick, but it was slick so that I can shave with it. Here's my lather:

    20240629_153205.jpg

Did get some slight alum feedback on my neck, but I didn't mind. As long as I am not grimacing than it is fine. Hit the face with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.
