  2. July 5 SOTM Headshave

    Good morning..

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (full throttle)
    Voskhod DE Blade (3)
    Hembree-Maggard Timberwolf Brush
    PAA/King R. Emporium SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Dome Turf: 3.5 days

I definitely needed a headshave so I picked my Fatboy in keeping with Fatboy Friday. Three error-free passes resulted in a cueball smooth shave. Although I am not a fan of PAA, this soap puts out a great performance in every way. Here's my lather:

There was hardly any alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and the AQ Ice Blue aftershave to top off this session. I may do a face shave this evening or hold off until tomorrow. Take care.

  12. Nice shave this morning-doing the back 9 of yesterday's, with the exception of the
    Brush-Stoylin 26 mm. Pro-Handle.

Just about the same result as yesterday, too. The difference was getting a Knick at North Porcupine. The bull-pen saved me again, in the form of the cold-water rinse and the Gabels Lime A.S. No other problems. 2 passes. Very Outstanding.

  16. First week of July

Bit of a Tuckaway focus this week with different blades and ASL, mixed in with a few quick random prework shaves

1st July was a quick pre work electric shave: Panasonic. Not as much fun, but worked well

2nd July: Gillette Tuckaway, Chubby 2, T&H No 10 Preshave, T&H Sandalwood croap. Permasharp (2), still a super shave

3rd July: Gillette Tuckaway, Chubby 2, T&H No 10 Preshave, T&H Sandalwood croap. Big Ben (1). The Big Ben blade was horrible so finished that shave with my Gillette Cartridge razor. Binned the Big Ben

4th July: Cold water shave (very cold): Gillette Tuckaway, Bolzano (1),Chubby 2, T&H No 10 Preshave, T&H Sandalwood croap. The Bolzano wasn’t as good as I remember it in my closed comb razors, but will keep it for a second day

5th July: another "quick" prework shave: T&H No 10 and Gillette Cartridge Sensor Excel (1). Score 8/10. Not as good as a DE or SE, and still took almost as long for the actual shave. Only time gained was the lack of prep time

    No damage this week!

    Have a great weekend lads

  18. Fine posts and shaves Chris. Electric razors were useless to me because I like very close shaves and those razors couldn't handle my coarse stubble.
