Prep: Warm shower:/Cien Moisture Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Tuxedo synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Ingram Menthol Lather Shave Cream.
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless. (D1)
Razor: 1970's Gillette Aluminium Handle Tech S4. (ENG)

Post:

(Face & Head Shave) (Shave Cream week)

A new shave set up to start the weekend. Another maiden combined face & head shave with the 70's Gillette tech paired up with the Feather Hi Stainless.

I had all intentions of using a GSB blade, which is a great match but changed my mind at the last minute and used the Feather Hi Stainless instead which was a great choice as it's another great efficient match for this tech. The appearance & weight of the short nimble aluminium handle gives the overall appearance of the razor an almost "toy-like impression" that the razor is a gimmick however, as the saying goes "looks can be deceiving" this is definitely the case with this little workhorse vintage razor fitted with the Feather and using good technique it performed wonderfully.

It's been some time since I last used the Ingram shave cream and forgot how much of a good lather it is with a nice menthol kick.

Another cream that I intent to use in my future shaves.

I'll use the razor & blade duo for all of my shaves this week to get reacquainted to both of them again. A great duo.

Another close comfortable efficient combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Bulldog Original Moisturiser.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

The Proraso Red Sandalwood Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Henry Taylor 5/8 straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud Classic Vanilla After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Of all the newer Glacial soaps and aftershaves I think that the Iceberg Island is my favourite scent - wow, is it beautiful. It’s a carbon copy of the Creed Virgin Island Water and Island Man from Stirling except that this stuff is chock full of frigid menthol. I had so much fun working up a great lather with my awesome Yaqi synthetic brush, my face was frozen almost instantly - damn, is this stuff ever COLD, and the skincare is typically Stirling perfection. The Gold Bond moisturizer felt so nice as well as chillingly soothing, and the Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave went on with its gorgeous scent which my wife and I both love along with its major menthol kick. With the help of my Canadian Tech I had such a most delightful three pass BBS shave - gee, these Wilkinson Sword blades are fantastic!

SE SOTD, Saturday, July 6th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Katana SE (1/2 blade type) with a Yaqi retracting handle, Mfg 2019, tame mid to mid range. Interesting design, I just snap a blade usually and just bump the blade into the locating stubs with a light tighten clamp on blade with a paper blade tuck to make sure it is placed properly and then tighten properly. Bought head & handle on cheap sale Yaqi use to have.
Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Astra, sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood, I like this Bayrum scent with Sandalwood added + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, very nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Katana with a Gillette Astra.
