Friday morning: King C. Gillette Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/7 AM day 2 Hamol SC (from Syria and nice) Prep ASB Floid Vigoroso AS Splash This morning I transplanted the 7 AM blade into my 50s Super Speed to compare the performance between these two razors and there’s no doubt about it - the Super Speed is the BEST DE for me. The Hamol cream from Syria smells so nice - a LOT like Williams soap, the lather is unbelievably thick, rich, slick, and protective, it has a bit of a menthol sensation, and the postshave feeling is soothing as well as very comfortable. This cream is popular in Syrian barbershops and it’s apparently very cheap. Needless to say the Prep soothed and moisturized my skin beautifully while the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on icy cold along with its delightful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. I experimented with a different kind of two passes - WTG on the first pass and XTG combined with ATG on the second one and it worked great - a fantastic BBS shave that was so enjoyable! SE SOTD, Friday, July 12th 2024 Razor : Yaqi SE Romulus 316 SSP AC 50mm + a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2013> mild to tame mid range depending on AC width blades or shim gap used. Small head parts make for a enjoyable nimble shave + a enjoyable shaving experience IMO. Had a close comfortable shave this morning. Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild (8), sharp and smooth + excellent longevity. Very good top tier blade to use with this razor IMO. Soap : Tabac, Mild flowery clean scent + some of the best lather qualities I have used. Brush : Yaqi " Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very nice knot to work the face + it mixes soap as good as any brush I own and is not a lather hog! Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE razor with a Captain titian mild blade. Have some great shaves!
