DE SOTD, Saturday, July 13th 2024

Razor : Yaqi " Mellon head" 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mid range. Excellent design, machining + finish QC. This razor works well with a light touch and after done shaving is like a smooth wet dolphin skin. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp (3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Tabac, mild flowery clean scented hard soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Ferrari " 24mm boar bristle knot. Excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon head razor with a Perma- sharp blade.

Same setup as 8 July, so no photo today...

2nd Week of July Setup
Pre-Shave: Warm shower; face washed with Meijer Aloe Vera liquid soap
Razor: Gillette Slim, settings 9 and 5
Blade: Tatra Platinum, shave 11
Soap: RazoRock Essential Oil of Lime
Brush: RazoRock Snowman synthetic
Post-Shave: Gabel's Lime Menthol ASL

The Tatra blade continues to soldier on, providing its 11th quality shave today. Noted the blade dragging again yesterday going ATG on my chin, and discovered that throttling the Slim back from setting 9 to setting 5 rectified that. Since that's the very last part of my shaving routine, it's no big deal to click the Slim back to 5 for the final three or so swipes. The Gabel's ASL revealed no razor burn or other irritation. So refreshing!

The Tatra will reappear for its 12th deployment tomorrow, and I'm expecting yet another BBS shave.

Lather: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream.
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Premium TTO.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Brut ASL with added menthols crystals./ Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

The is another inexpensive shaving cream that doesn't have much of a scent, but makes up for it's performance and post shave feel.

A comfortable close shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.
