    3rd Week of July Setup
    Pre-shave: Face brush-washed with VdH Natural brush and Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Razor: Gillette Slim, setting 5
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum, shaves 3 and 4
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise, face-lathered
    Brush: Stirling Pro-Handle Synthetic
    After-shave: Aqua Velva Ice Sport

    Same setup as 15-16 July, so no photo.

    METHODOLOGY: Above-jawline WTG; below-jawline XTG; full-face ATG; below-jawline 2nd ATG
    SHAVE CLOSENESS: Excellent. BBS closeness
    SHAVE COMFORT: Excellent. Throttled back the Slim from setting 9 to setting 5. Smooth sailing!
    NICKS/IRRITATION: None
    SHAVE LONGEVITY: Excellent. Shave still looked great 10-12 hours later.
    FRAGRANCE LONGEVITY: Held up for about 2.5 hours
    OVERALL: I'm developing a new respect for the Astra SP, which I thought was nothing special in the past.
    COMMENTS: Tried to develop a shave-worthy lather from the pre-shave soap. I did came close to face-lathering something useful, but the lather died quickly. Will try to whip up something in a shave bowl before writing it off as unusable for shaving.
