A quickie but a very goodie - my 50s Super Speed did the job beautifully. Three passes left me BBS. The Cold Spices soap is unbelievably thirsty - it took something like four additions of water to get the lather to where I wanted it. The scent is very close to matching the Shulton Old Spice scent but the menthol blurs it a little. The Gold Bond moisturizer is super soothing as well as nicely chilly and the Cold Spices aftershave feels very cooling but again the menthol seems to have a bit of an adverse effect on the scent. Otherwise I’m quite satisfied with this stuff.

Razor: King C Gillette.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

The Omega shaving cream Omega shaving cream provided slick protective lather, the kick from the Eucalyptus oil has a wonderful cooling effect and a great morning wakeup call for my ageing face sensors.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine.

Here my Sunday Shave (21.07.2024)


Razor: Ronson // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Soap Commander Fortitude // Brush: Simpsons X2L // Aftershave: Alum - Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

A very delightful shave was had.

This little Razor is SO wonderful. It is so thoroughly at smooth at the same time. Outstanding. BBS in 2-passes with minor touch-ups. Brush had no problems whipping up this wonderful soap. Soap Commander is always a real treat to use.

The Blade was done but this came out at the end of the shave. During the shave there were no indicators that the blade has seen it´s best day.

After rinsing the face, the Alum Block had bites to it, as well as the Aftershave which burnt quite good.

Nevertheless the shave was very much enjoyable.

Now it´s time to smoke a Pipe and light it up with a Ronson Varaflame. Vintage at it´s best.

A 10 out of 10
