Well during my latest adventures , I tried to help my parents again with some more "minor" pipe leaks even though my shoulder isn't completely healed from the last time I messed up my shoulder.. So , I basically reinjured my shoulder AGAIN !! This time I even managed to dislocate my shoulder !! So in my " infinite wisdom " I decided to take a page from Lethal Weapon and do like Riggs and went to a edge of the wall and pop it back in myself !! It worked because it isn't popped out of place any more but now I have the ache from having done that.. Maybe the pain will subside sooner this time... My heating pad loves me though as it's been getting more use lately.....Oh and I wound up getting a plumber in to do the work and since I noticed there are some more connectors needing replacement ( but not leaking yet ) the plumber is gonna come back and fix those too as soon as I feel good enough to cut out some more sheet rock ( The plumber told me that if I already had the sheet rock cut out then it would cost ALOT less than if he has to do it... ) We had to get a different plumber this time as the one we previously had has retired , The plumber we got this time seems really nice and has some pretty good rates as the whole repair only cost 117.40 cents for replacing multiple connectors and pipe in 2 different places and was done in less than 30 minutes !! I saw the PEX pipe connector crimper he used and asked him about it and he told me where I could get one of those and what it was called .. His was called a one handed pex pipe connector crimper and is alot smaller that the big 2 handed pro one I had currently been using.. It looks like it is a lot easier to use too !!
Getting back to the question-I had some work done on my car today...It's been my favorite car.(Sorry @jaro, I see you got back the question before I did. Sorry about your shoulder.)
Found a nice way to honor a veteran. The fellow who sets up the coffee, opens the building for my quilters guild, etc (at the Knights of Columbus hall where we rent space for meetings) is an Army veteran. I presented him with one of the Veteran's Quilts made by our guild. He was happy & surprised. It made me happy to have the privilege of honoring him.
Thanks for helping Veterans. I know that Us Vets appreciate it because it helps make Us feel appreciated....
Here is a pic of the quilt & the gift bag I embroidered for it. The back is just red & white striped fabric, on which I embroidered “Thank you”. He hadn’t noticed that right away. The fun part is that he will eventually see it & get another nice surprise.
Well, the newer A/C unit went out last night, right before bedtime. We had been having power flickering on and off, several times a day, due to storms, so it didn't surprise me. So, I grabbed a window A/C unit I had to use, a couple of weeks ago, when the power went out, for a few days, when we ran on a generator. All was chilly, and I gave standing orders to the wife not to call a repair person, until I looked at it, after work. The last time she did this, it cost around $400, and it was only a Capacitor. I was familiar with them, and keep a spare for each A/C unit. So, after work, and 15 minutes working outside on the unit, we now have chilly air again. It had only cost $19 from Amazon. I ordered another spare. Power spikes tend to blow these out.
It's my pleasure & my honor. BTW, I suppose I should mention how I learned that he is a Veteran. We begin each meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. A couple of months ago, during the Pledge, I spotted him out of the corner of my eye & noticed that he was saluting in military style- hand to forehead. So I asked him about it.
I also should have stated that most of Us are appreciative of the things like you have done , BUT , that is not why we served. We serve because it is our duty to help our fellow Americans and others in the world to protect your / their freedoms. It was a Privilege to serve and protect and most of us ( myself included ) would do it again if needed... Again, thanks...
I put new grips (larger diameter) on my Mark IV hunter. My fingers are long, so it feels much better. At 7 yards, noticeable improvement in my accuracy.
Lite weight and threaded for the suppressor. It balances beautifully. The original upper looked like this.
I agree. Here is a more realistic target showing an armed threat. Sara, print this one and show us your ten-yard accuracy. Aim center mass
