DE SOTD, Thursday, July 25th 2024

Razor : Yaqi "SLOPE" 316 SSP torsional type slant head + a Yaqi brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2022>, mild to tame mid range. I should use this razor more often because it reduces weepers and irritation I have noticed over months of use . Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Personna red (1) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Good blade for slants IMO.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild spicy lavender with excellent lather qualities. Great soap IMO.
Brush : Yaqi " Ferrari " 24mm boar bristle knot. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Great all around brush.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE torsional slant with a Personna red blade.

I had no idea Yardley made shave soap. I love their bath soaps...perhaps I'll hunt around a bit for the shave soap.

 

You will want to look for vintage Yardley, as they no longer make shaving soap. I was lucky to also find and NOS version on eBay

Away for our annual replenishing of Vitamin D.
I took my favourite travel razor gifted me by the designer Roger Quintero. Which gave me the most wonderfully smooth shave.

 

This past weekend, I was in my storage locker looking for my orbital buffer to detail my truck and came across a box full of shaving gear. It has been in storage for 3 years, so it has to be at least 3.5-4 years since the last time I used any of the Tiki Bar Soaps used previous week's shave, except the Bay Rum and all the shave soaps used this week to this point.

The Colgate Shaving Mug Soap lathered well with the B-3 Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Red and Black OT by Tom and the Nacet Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Special Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
