    Fine shave this morning-actually I made 3 changes from yesterday, as I began in the shower with:

    Prep-Nivea 4 Men Body Wash(Hydration 3 in 1)

    Another of those shaves that began not quite how I wanted, as I saw some redness at S. Porcupine again. Everywhere else was well-done. I should have done better at the jawline-too much astroturf left there, but OK. 2 passes. No cuts, Polka-dots, 1 Knick. The Stoylin Glacial A.S. cooled things down in nice fashion. No cologne today. I had to hurry it(the shave)somewhat, as water here is being shut off for most of the morning. Very Outstanding.

    Still no coffee this week

    26 Jul 2024 1600 90.jpg

    Days growth = 2
    Prep = Hot water prep
    Preshave = Proraso
    Cream/Soap = Tabac in a tub
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Schick type M adjustable @2 - 5 !!!
    Blade = Schick SE (4) still going well
    Passes = 3 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = Tabac + tabac
    Score = 9.8 /10
    Damage = none

    Superb shave with the Schick type M on its 4th day out

    At first I thought, hmm, not so sharp today, I am needing more strokes in the first pass to get some decent clean up. The blade still felt crisp, which none of my current DE blades can do on day 4. But …..after the 1st pass I noticed the setting had somehow changed back to 2. This dial is quite easy to move while rinsing or maybe even while shaving. For Pass number 2 I went back to setting 3 but still needed some more cleaning up, so for pass 3 and buffing I went to setting 5. Setting 3 is safe, so is number 2 but not so efficient. Setting 5 is good, subject to good technique. Next time out I will start higher than setting 3 but it would need to be with a good lather

    My lather today was made thicker than usual, the Tabac provides superb cushioning and slickness

    The Schick does tend to remove the lather quicker than my open combs, which leave more lather behind for subsequent strokes

    One other thought. @Ursa mentions longevity in their shave reports. I agree, with the SE my face is still much smoother later on in the day as I write this report in the evening, when compared to some of my DE shaves

    Superb Friday shave. I think it’s been a good short focus, not sure about tomorrow but I am feeling like I need a change!

    Have a great Friday

    Thanks for the kind words! When I do a Search for insights about a particular shaving product, it's almost certain that the most recent commentary is right here on SOTD, SOTW, and 30-Day Rule/Focus, making them our most active subforums for gear reviews.

    With that in mind, I thought it would be valuable to pass along my observations for both shave and fragrance longevity. We've all been stymied by what we thought were great shaves that didn't last, as well as fragrances that lasted longer or shorter than desired.

    SRS # 1136 - Just One Soap July Weekdays - Cella

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Double Duck Goldedge
    Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Old Cahaba
    Lather: Cella Crema da Barba
    Aftershave: Cella Milano
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    Wonderful shave this morning. The boar brush whipped up an extra creamy Cella lather. Getting ready for a fine day at the NY Aquarium in Coney Island. My old stomping grounds growing up in Brooklyn.
    The only drawback is traffic, especially Friday’s in the summer in the afternoon. The journey home for a distance of about 68 miles took almost 3 hours. Gotta love the Belt Parkway. Nonetheless, the Aquarium was fantastic.

    Three passes to super smoothness without any incidents. Post alum report was silent.

    Hope you all had a great day.

    Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (2)
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Brush

    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

    Had a wonderful shave this morning. Three error-free passes gave me a very close and comfortable shave. This Pasteur's Pharmacy Shave Soap produced a very nice lather without much water. It was real slick and creamy. Here's my lather:

    I had very little alum feedback and that was on my lower left neck.. Splashed on the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave to finish this session. Take care.
