Here my Shave of the Day (28.07.2024)


Razor: Emir // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: B&M Spice // Brush: Shavenmac // Aftershave: Alum - B&M Spice

Today i used my newest addition…the Emir, made by Karl Engels in Solingen (Germany) around 1930 / 1931.

A razor with two different sides…one side is aggressive the othe one mild. In general the razor is a REALLY direct shaving razor. Very noisy and thoroughly but you got to be careful. Otherwise it might bite you.

Spice…a fantastic scent made by B&M. The lather as well, very slick and protective.

2 passes and the shave was done. BBS. Biggest surprise: The Alum Block as well as the Aftershave gave ZERO feedback. Lovely.

A 9 out of 10

SE Sunday Schick Shave(SSSS), July 28th 2024

Razor : Schick E2 injector, Canadian variant. Mfg 1930's-40's, mid range. Excellent stamping technolgy for that time period to make a decent razor. i modified mine so to manually install blades or injecto either way. I prefer the manual way to rinse and dry better. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : SChick injector(6) sharp and smooth with good longevity.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Rainbow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Big handle + excellent knot make for a great brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Countryside spalash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Schick E2 injector with a SChick blade.

A shave from a couple of days ago. Nice shave but the B1 was clearly a step towards the near perfection of the Schick C3. Fun nonetheless

This shave was about eight years in the making. This was the first SE I bought in my fevered early RAD stages. Somehow other razors were quickly acquired and jumped the line before I got back to this nice Clog-Pruf. Well, it’s been patiently waiting and today was the day. Excellent shave if just a tad milder than what is ideal for me. Glad I finally got to it
