Great shave this Monday Morning. The weather has cooled off some. but I decided to stick with Stoylin's Iceberg Island soap. The humidity will return in a few days anyway. A minute at the Loading Dock to set up the brush for the shave. Nice work all around. Goose-eggs for cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I might have done a little better at North Cactus Nation, but I'll try to fix that problem tomorrow. 2 passes. The Royal Copenhagen feels good and a strong finish from One Man Show cologne. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good morning.

    Rolls Razor
    Rolls Blade
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    TSD Barbershoppe SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 48 hrs

It's been awhile since I used my Rolls Razor and I believe it's my 3rd or 4th use since I won it at the Pasteur's Pharmacy 2023 Octobershave meetup. I thought that I really would give it a good workout since it's the first time using it with 48 hrs growth. Admittedly, it gave me a decent shave, but it did not give me a BBS result. I did 3 passes, but had to buff a lot to get a good shave. I also did not lose any blood during my shave.

I went with TSD Barbershoppe SS because it is mildly scented and provides a nice, slick lather. Here's my lather:

Alum feedback was non-existent. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to finish this session. Take care.

Marvelous Monday shave John. It's a great thing when you change your technique and get a better result. I have been traditionally wetshaving close to six years and my shaving manner definitely has changed. Recently, I changed to criss-crossing my razor on my cheeks, instead of straight up (ATG) and down (WTG). I find that I get a smoother shave that way with less strokes.

Very nice comparison shave Chris. I take it that both blades similarly feel and shave the same way.

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Frederick Reynolds 5/8”
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Working Man Blues
    Lather: Cella Crema da Barba
Aftershave: FreyjasMagic Thor’s Hammer Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Excellent shave this morning courtesy of the Cella and the F. Reynolds straight. Three passes to super smoothness. I did receive a minor weeper, not a delayed version, that was easily taken care of by my post shave routine.

I am looking forward to the end of my Just One Soap July Weekdays focus. The variety looming for the month of August will be most welcomed.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Hmmm. Interesting. On my cheeks, I have always gone straight down (WTG) and then across (XTG) - never straight up (ATG). A diagonal stroke might be worth trying.

And on my neck, I find the XTG is a bit tricky with the dips and hollows. Diagonal would be a definite possibility there.
