Right dandy shave to start the week. The Weber/Gillette combo is super smooth and effective. The Dr. Selby has nice scent/lathers easily and well and I just like it. The No Name brush is a really nice one, feels good in hand and works well indeed. So, all in all, a great way to get the week started. My face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

5th Week of July Setup - Using up Odds & Ends
Face brush-washed with Van der Hagen Natural brush and Stirling Mentholated Shave Soap

METHODOLOGY: Full-face WTG; chin-only XTG; full-face ATG; second ATG pass below jawline
SHAVE CLOSENESS: Excellent BBS closeness
SHAVE COMFORT: Excellent
NICKS/IRRITATION: None
SHAVE LONGEVITY: Excellent. Shave looked presentable 14 hours later
FRAGRANCE LONGEVITY: The Brisk ASL held up for about three hours.
OVERALL: The short 5th-week-of-the-month setups will be devoted to using up unloved gear.
COMMENTS: Some of you don't like canned goo, but I think latherless goo-in-a-tube is much worse. You have to look at stubble, not lather, to see where you've already shaved, and that's a dicey business when shaving with SE/DE razors.

After slathering this particular product all over your beard, it takes the better part of a minute to rinse off your hands--and the rinsing-off chores get repeated whenever you reapply, or you'll risk fumbling your razor. This stuff won't rinse off of blades, and will render the best of them shot within 3 shaves. I've brought this cream on camping trips and it will destroy a BiC Sensitive disposable razor in about three shaves, too.

When new in 2008, this cream smelled like sickeningly-sweet Old Spice and Go-Jo hand cleaner mixed together. Sixteen years later, the spice notes are mostly gone, and the nose is now greeted by notes of Go-Jo, Dawn dishwashing liquid, Gumout carburetor cleaner spray, and O'Reilly Auto Parts 5W20 synthetic motor oil. The Barbasol Brisk ASL likewise has some, shall we say, industrial elements to its bouquet and paired well with the cream.

Yes, it's a joyless cream to use--but it yields superb shaves. It's too good to throw away, as I have done with Burt's Bees brushless cream.

A comfortable combined early morning face & head shave to finish the month off superbly.

The Nacet blade has performed wonderfully with all of my shaves feel efficient & smooth with no signs of dulling. If I had to choose between the Feather & Nacet blade, then I prefer the Nacet, purely because of the comfort of them, even though the Feather Hi stainless is/feels sharper, the Nacet's smoothness longevity, & balanced sharpness lasts longer than the Feather. That said, the 1970's Gillette Aluminium Handle Tech/Feather Hi Stainless is my new tried & tested favourite duo.
My focus with all my Gillette & Wilkinson sword razors through out the month has been wonderful. I will continue to add both blades to my blade rotation in future shaves.

In August I will carry on with another month focus with my Gillette & Wilkinson Sword DE razors with the addition of my Chinese Gillette super-speed clones pairing them all together with a variety of Treet DE blades through out the month.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Bulldog Original Moisturiser.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the SlimGem 3D Printed Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER 3D Printed Razor by Tom and the Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

DE SOTD, Tuesday, July 30th 2024

Razor : Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72 316 SSP. Mfg 2021>mid range. Excellent machining, finish + design QC. Checks all the boxes for a decent reasonably priced 316 SS razor IMO. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Personna red(2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. One of my top performing blades.
Soap : Yaqi "The Green", nice scent of a fresh pine & aspen forest with natural florals + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Mountain lake" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Great brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi "The Green" splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my RR Lupo.72 with a Personna Red blade.
