Thanks Gary. It is a novel razor for sure. However, I will only use it for 1 day stubble and definitely not for a headshave.

    Great shave and pics, Joe!

Yes. I cannot tell a lie: I started collecting odd old razors before I ever began wetshaving. The Rolls razor is one of the ones in my collection, but it has never occurred to me to try to shave with the bloody gadget...

I sometimes use the J hook method on my middle neck area as well as the criss cross.

Thanks John. As far as the Rolls, the blade needs to be honed. Although it has a stone, I mo, it's best to take the blade on a regular hone. The problem is to disconnect the blade from the housing.

Lol! First, I don't have a hairy back. Second, I am not that flexible to reach the middle back. Finally, I hope you find your peepers.

Nice report and shave Joe, I take it you are not a convert to the Rolls razor then?

Thanks Joe, no not quite, I will see what happens in the next day or so

Super 3 pass smoothness Joe, you are to commended for you focus tenacity. Variety is on the horizon!

Day 2 of my back to back comparison:

Gillette Tech and Big Ben (2) left side of face
Gillette Tech and Vintage Gillette (2) right side of face

One of these blades is starting to drag

Bit more work required with the Techs being so lightweight. More strokes were needed, and a full 3 passes had to be performed to get close to DFS. Took longer to finish the shave. With so much blade-on-skin-time I started to feel the exfoliation quite markedly so didn’t want to push the ATG limits

It is interesting that in the 2nd and 3rd passes these light Gillettes don’t have enough bite to get really close. Two ways around this: press harder, or increase the attack angle of the blade. I think that is one benefit of a curved cap with traditional DE razors, you can change the attack angle, at your own risk of course: with the flatter SE heads the angle is pretty much locked in

Post = Usual CWR, Alum, cold water rinse, left over lather to the face, rinse, pat dry, Thayers, Nivea balm, Old Spice

No damage to speak although the Alum was stinging a fair amount

    Have a great Tuesday

It's more of a novelty razor. I won't get a BBS shave with it, but it's good for a change of pace.

Find shave Chris. I would guess the Big Ben shave is the one that is tuggy.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
    Face & Head Lather.
    Lather: Vitos Vegetale Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Gillette Nacet. (D1)
Razor: 1940's Fat Handle Gillette Flat Bottom Tech. (ENG)

    Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils, 5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./P&G Old Spice Bearglove ASL Spray./Bulldog Original Moisturiser.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave.)

A comfortable combined early morning face & head shave to finish the month off superbly.

The Nacet blade has performed wonderfully with all of my shaves feel efficient & smooth with no signs of dulling. If I had to choose between the Feather & Nacet blade, then I prefer the Nacet, purely because of the comfort of them, even though the Feather Hi stainless is/feels sharper, the Nacet's smoothness longevity, & balanced sharpness lasts longer than the Feather. That said, the 1970's Gillette Aluminium Handle Tech/Feather Hi Stainless is my new tried & tested favourite duo.
My focus with all my Gillette & Wilkinson sword razors through out the month has been wonderful. I will continue to add both blades to my blade rotation in future shaves.

In August I will carry on with another month focus with my Gillette & Wilkinson Sword DE razors with the addition of my Chinese Gillette super-speed clones pairing them all together with a variety of Treet DE blades through out the month.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Bulldog Original Moisturiser.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: C V Heljestrand 14. 7/8” Camel Bone Scales
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio “Inferno” Silver Fox Synthetic
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Cella Crema da Barba
    Aftershave: PAA Amalfi 3K
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Outstanding Cella shave this morning. I paired the Cella with the newly acquired PAA Amalfi 3K splash. The aftershave has a wonderful scent, perfect for this time of year. The scent profile of the aftershave is as follows: “Pure Italian essence. An exquisite blend of Sicilian citrus fruits and flower essences, from crisp English lavender, rosemary, verbena, and Bulgarian rose to the warm notes of vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli”

Another warm day here on LI. Already completed my X3Bar Hulk Day 7 workout and followed it up with a dip in the pool. Divine!
Now getting ready for another adventure into the quagmire known as NYC traffic as we head to the Bronx Zoo for the day.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Another great shave with Stoylin Glacial/Royal Copenhagen. This particular Stoylin Glacial(Iceberg Island)feels colder than the Doc's other Glacials. Course his others are indeed nice and cold, but I think this one tops 'em. A minute at the Loading Dock to prepare the Jayaruh. I don't know why, but the Iceberg Island is a bit harder to see on my face and neck than whiter soaps/creams/foams. But it got on. Nice work all over. Again, I could have done better down at North Cactus Nation(neck). But I'll take it. Actually, it came out a bit better than yesterday's action. 2 passes. Zeroes on cuts,Knicks,Polka-dots. The Royal Copenhagen will be my "go-to" aftershave for all glacial soaps/creams/foams. They work in concert with each other. Just thinking-another candidate might be Gabel's (Drops Of)Lime. One Man Show cologne to finish. Super Duper Outstanding.
