Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation 316 SSP Mellon head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mid range. Excellent machining, finish and design QC. Very hard top cap to machine IMO as a machinist with experiences of all types. I really enjoy using this razor but I have not mastered the chin area quite yet with the odd wipper with 2nd Gen mellon razor. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Personna Red(4) sharp and smooth excellent longevity. Top tier blade for a lot of my razors when used.
Soap : Razorock blue barber, very nice scented cologne type of scent that is not offensive to my nose but it is artificial I suppose + excellent lather qualities. Very good deal when they had a "what the puck" sale on with different fragrances years ago.
Brush : Yaqi"Aqua" 24mm, high mountain 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice over all brush, this is a different species of badger than other common silvertip knots that are used IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Blue barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 1 tiny chin weeper= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon razor with a Personna red blade.

The Cella Shave Soap lathered well with the SlimGem 3D Printed Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER 3D Printed Razor by Tom and the Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Cella After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

1st Week of August Setup
Face brush-washed with Van der Hagen Natural brush and Stirling Mentholated Shave Soap
Gillette Slim, settings 5 and 7
Asco Super Stainless blade, shave 1
Gillette Foamy Lemon-Lime cream
Gabel's Lime Menthol after shave lotion

METHODOLOGY: Dispensed the Foamy into a shave bowl, added water, and rebloomed the lather.
Full-face WTG; chin-only XTG; full-face ATG; second ATG pass below jawline
SHAVE CLOSENESS: Excellent BBS closeness after I opened up the Slim to setting 7
SHAVE COMFORT: The shave sounded rough, but was actually quite pleasant.
NICKS/IRRITATION: None
SHAVE LONGEVITY: We'll see.
FRAGRANCE LONGEVITY: The Gabel's tends to fade away within an hour.
OVERALL: My first go with an Asco blade was quite pleasing.
COMMENTS: I was surprised by how much water I had to add to the Foamy to get the lather right; it seemed even drier than Barbasol. Just painting it on my wet face direct from the can with a damp brush was a no-go.

I've noted that the Asco blade has some fans here on TSD, and if my first-ever shave with one is any indication, I am likely to join their ranks. While my first three swipes were very slightly tuggy, it was buttery-smooth thereafter and very efficient. If the blade holds up beyond three shaves, it could become my favourite low-cost blade.
