    Shavette Shave # 232

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Dovo Shavette
    Blade: Personna Hair Shaper (5)
Brush: CRD Sky Dragon 26 mm Synthetic
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Proraso Green
    Aftershave: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Fabulous refreshing shave with the Proraso Green this morning. On point with the humid weather slated for the day. Three passes with the Dovo Shavette has my face smooth and velveteen.

Hope you all have had a great day gentlemen.

thanks Joe.i first used proraso green soap in the tub some 6 years ago and quickly found the cream in the tube to be a better product.both the tub and tube products across the whole line(white blue green red) have been reformulated and are far better than before.imho..:):eatdrink047:

    August 2 SOTE Headshave

    Good evening.

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Voskhod DE Blade (2)
    Hembree Delrin/Maggard Timberwolf Brush
    PAA/King R. Emporium SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Dome Turf: 3.25 days

Yeah, I know that I could have simultaneously done a face and head shave this morning, but I had a busy day so the headshave had to wait. Anyway, I went with the Fatboy Friday theme because this razor never fails me for dome shaves. This is my second use of the Voskhod blade and I could have stopped at pass #2, but I prefer a cueball smooth dome. Three passes without incident was the result.
I went with the PAA/King R Emporium soap because it's mild and produces a great, slick lather. Here's my lather:

Didn't have any alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and that nice AQ Ice Blue aftershave to finish the shave and top off the evening. Take care.

One of the challenges of wetshaving is getting the right water/soap ratio to get a creamy, slick lather. Unfortunately, every soap has a different water/soap ratio and sometimes shavers forget what soap needs more water while others need a little less. It gets really out of hand when shavers have 50 or more soaps. Lol!
