    Thanks Gary. The soap is a collaborative venture between Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and King Rex Emporium. I have never tried PAA or King Rex Emporium soaps prior to this one so it would be unfair to say what brand is better. However, I will say this particular soap is very good. I have said many times, I believe that a Stirling soap has the best value. PAA has CK6 and prodes a great, slick lather. PAA has a very large selection of fragrances. With that said, I won't buy from them because their price point is too high and I consider their labels demonic. As far as Matt Pisarcik's King Rex Soaps, there are virtually no you tube content creators that use it. That's not to say Matt's soaps are had, but I have to question why there are limited reviews on the internet for his soaps.

    That is weird... I quoted TWO shavers shaves -- yours and Paul Turner's. And BOTH Paul and you have now responded to say you were each the ONLY shaver I responded to. So apparently each of you saw your own shave quoted in my comment but not the other person's.

    How does that happen????

    Soaps are definitely YMMV. Having said that, Arko has a general reputation for quickly and easily producing tons of lather, for having good glide and slickness in use, but for being a bit drying on the skin for the postshave feel. That has all been my experience as well.

    I suspect you are not adding enough water. Even though the soap lathers quickly with only a bit of water, it works better in the actual shave with quite a bit more than the minimum needed to first create a lather.

    Adjustable, Arko, Aloe Vera,

    Days growth = 1
    Prep = Hot water prep
    Preshave = Proraso
    Cream/Soap = ARKO + Aloe (TOBS) mix
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Schick Adjustable @5+
    Blade = Schick SE (6)
    Passes = 2 + WTG and XTG mainly minimal XTG
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers, Nivea balm
    ASL = Old Spice
    Scent = Santal Spirt Sandalwood
    Score = 9+ /10
    Damage = none

    Another great SE shave. Pressed some Arko into the bowl, added ½ scoop of the Aloe, good lather, slick, shiny, but still thick enough to give good protection with the SE
    The Schick Blade was starting to feel less sharp on Day 6, limiting my desire to go ATG in my more difficult areas

    Rinsed and cleaned the razor: harder to clean than the Hydromagic, which opens up better for access. (Still deciding if I leave the blade in until I replace it at some stage in the future, or remove it to better clean the inside of the razor)

    Have a great Saturday one and all

    Nice setup and shave Barry, is that a lighter or heavier ball end tech. I am finding my Aluminium Techs a bit on the light side

    Thank you, Chris. It's on the heavier side. Indecently the Aluminium Techs are a great favourite of mine. I do understand your judgement towards their lightness though, which can trick your train of thought into adding more pressure to them when shaving, which can result in getting irritation or nicks. My 1950's Gillette Ball End Tech for me has a great balanced heft to it, and a pleasure to shave with. Those vintage Gillette Techs are superb shaving tools and were made to last.

    Lol! Thanks Chris. You are doing well. It really takes experimentation to get the right soap/water ratio to make a wonderful lather for a particular soap.

    i remember your dislike for paa labels.;).i limit myself these days to companies that ship aftershaves to canadian vendors.as i don't buy from them directly..as for RE,i've only purchased hardware/handles etc..i only have one paa ck6 set,doppelganger black
    which is really good for a vegan soap,long lasting aftershave also,though i rarely use it(cold weather scent)..:eatdrink047:

    This morning's shave was same as yesterday. Great one again, although the squiggly exit of the Rise still gets to me. Maybe that's how all the other Rises began, too, and I just forgot. A member here made me feel A LITTLE better about it, explaining that all "old-school" creams/foams begin that way before going to cloud form. Anyway, as I say, it was great. One pass. Goose-eggs again on cuts/Knicks/Polka-dots. The Osage felt niiice again. I may need to purchase another before the weather turns cool/cold. I'm just glad you can buy it on the Clubman site. Classic barbershop A.S., after all. I think there's another site it's on, where I order my Stephan products(Bay Rum A.S, and hair gel). Since Stephan has quality barbershop stuff, it probably IS there(Osage)but I'll have to recheck. I need more hair gel pretty soon anyway. But as for today's shave, another As Outstanding As It Gets.
