The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #456 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply SE Razor and the Supply Black Label Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I haven’t used R41 in a long time. This is not the original face eater, but the later gentler version bought in 2019. It’s still a pretty aggressive razor that will easily slice through any scab or pimple if you don’t pay attention. If you do pay attention, it’s a great 3-pass BBS.

Having used it for the first time in a couple of years, I find it similar in performance to Gillette New LC that I have, but with a somewhat gentler feel on skin while shaving. OTOH it’s not almost a hundred years old…

I need to get it back into my rotation.

I was feeling nostalgic for my Dad today, so I used a razor like his, and the Tabac he used for decades. I remember smelling this scent in his shaving mug after he passed, too. The razor is not as smooth as some, but the shave was solid and easy.

Razor : Razorock 2nd generation Lupo.72 316 SSP. Mfg 2021>, mid range. Checks all the boxes for a decent shave for myself. Excellent machining, finish and design QC. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Polsilver SI (2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock lavender, nice lavender scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cola" 22 mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice frugal soap loading (not a lather hog) with great results IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda splash cologne + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my RR Lupo.72 razor with a Polsilver SI blade.

A very nice, but sad shave today. After 10 years of near daily use, my 2014 Semogue BC Mistura 22mm had a catastrophic failure. Unfortunately the knot fell apart. I have both a 24mm and 26mm Semogue Mistura, but am thinking they might be larger than I want for my daily shave. Debating ordering a Torga C3 Mistura. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your day.

    1st Week of August Setup
Face brush-washed with Van der Hagen Natural brush and Personal Care Shea Butter soap
Gillette Slim, settings 7 and 9
Baili Super Stainless blade, shave 2
    Gillette Foamy Lemon-Lime cream
    Stirling Pro-Handle synthetic brush
Gabel's Lime Menthol after shave lotion

METHODOLOGY: Dispensed the Foamy into a shave bowl, added water, and rebloomed the lather.
Full-face WTG; chin-only XTG; full-face ATG; second ATG pass below jawline
SHAVE CLOSENESS: Excellent BBS closeness after I opened up the Slim to setting 9
    SHAVE COMFORT: Excellent
    NICKS/IRRITATION: None
SHAVE LONGEVITY: Shave looked good 12 hours later
FRAGRANCE LONGEVITY: I really slathered on the Gabel's today, and the fragrance lasted a whopping 90 minutes.
OVERALL: I'm very pleased with the Baili Super Stainless blade so far, and wish I had more than just the one that came with my new Baili 176T razor. I can't seem to find them on Amazon, and they're expensive on eBay.
COMMENTS: This was my first-ever use of Personal Care Shea Butter soap, and it made for a great brush wash. It did not come close to making shave-worthy lather, but sure did set me right up for a great shave! The skincare was very nice indeed.

I got a couple of the last cans of Foamy Lemon-Lime a couple of years ago when Gillette pulled it from the North American market. I first shaved with this particular brand-new can just a few days ago, and it's really disappointing how much the fragrance has faded in a relatively short time. My last can of Foamy Lemon-Lime packed an intense lemon-lime punch, and was absolutely delightful to use. This can is just "meh" and not much more fun than regular ol' Foamy. With Barbershop Fresh nowhere to be found locally, this is probably the last-ever can of Foamy to take up residence in my Shave Den.
