SE SOTD, Friday, August 9th 2024

Razor : Yaqi SE Romulus 316 SSP AC type with a Yaqi Chippendale(Darwin looking) 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining, finish + design QC makes for a nimble shaving experience. One of my favorite SE razors in my SE collection. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild (2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Proraso Green eucalyptus mentholated, strong Eucalyptus scent with menthol with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali"24 mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso green splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 2 tiny chin weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus with a Kai Titian mild blade.

METHODOLOGY: Full-face WTG; chin-only XTG; full-face ATG; second ATG pass below jawline
SHAVE CLOSENESS: Excellent BBS closeness
SHAVE COMFORT: Excellent, as if there wasn't a blade in the razor
NICKS/IRRITATION: None
SHAVE LONGEVITY: Shave looked good 12 hours later
FRAGRANCE LONGEVITY: The AV Ice Balm fragrance held up for about 4 hours.
OVERALL: Was looking around for a travel case for my Gillette razors on Amazon, and this razor with case popped up for about US$9.99.

The case is decent, has a little mirror in the lid, and my Gillette Slim razor fits inside it nicely, as seen below. The blade cavity won't hold a cardboard tuck of five blades, but four wrapped spare blades do fit. A fresh BiC Chrome Platinum blade in the razor and four spares should last me about 25 shaves, so I'm set.

And the razor? It's pictured at right and I'm delighted with it! Yes, the blade exposure looks rather aggressive in this photo but it's actually a mild shaver. I put my sharpest blade in it and got a close, very comfortable shave with no problems at all.

My Gillette Tech handles fit this Baili. Equipped with a Dishi 3-Tier CNC handle, the razor won't fit in the travel case. No worries; the Baili's OEM handle is very nice.

Someone new to DE shaving should consider this razor. Someone needing a travel case for a Tech or Slim, a travel razor, or an inexpensive razor for a starter set should also consider this. I'm rather curious about the Baili TTO razors now.

A new eclectic shave set up to start the Weekend...The MWF as always provided me with a wonderful protective slick lather for the shave leaving an excellent post shave feel.

In addition to my Gillette super speeds clones I've added another two clone razors to my month focus the Baili BD191 & Kanzy K100/Baili BD176 what I like about both of these razors is the 'closed tech type head', the top cap holds the blade firmly reducing blade chatter to minimum with no blade over-hang of the blade ends which are very comfortable to shave with additional protection of catching my ear lobes or under my nose when shaving.

Starting with the Baili BD191 paired up with Treet Dura sharp which made a comfortable efficient duo.

Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

The Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #456 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Classic Samurai Razor and the Gillette Silver Blue Half Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
