I have to agree with you + the performance improved because of the shorter handle and grip.

 

SE Sunday Shave, August 18th 2024

Razor : Gem push button SE. Mfg 1958-65, mild to tame mid range. Well built to last, it is a nice razor to wield when shaving and is attractive with the gold and black handle. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS (7) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Yaqi Dragon, mild scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari" 24mm boar bristle. Excellent lather generator, soft split-end bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. This brush has turned out to be a decent shave brush.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem push-button SE with a coated Gem blade.

Did I ever freeze my face off with the Glacial Electric Sheep soap - yikes is it ever frigid. I LOVE its scent, it gave me tons of wonderful lather, and it left my skin feeling not only icy cold but so soothed and comfortable thanks to its mutton tallow formula. The Gold Bond moisturizer is also nice and cooling as well as soothing not to mention how bone chillingly cold the Northern Elixir aftershave is. Last but not least the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance topped it all off. Another perfect three pass BBS that was lots of fun!

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Brass TAR Razor by Tom and the Gillette Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
