    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave)

    The Haslinger Schafmilch shaving soap is a great performing nice mild non descriptive fragranced shaving soap which my mature skin loves and creates an acceptable lather in a short space of time.

    Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    (Also posted on Paste&Cut)
    24/08/24 : Afternoon
    • Razor Gillette Ball Handle Tech (no date)
    • Blade Vintage Waltham Blade CO
    • Pre-Shave Hot Shower
    • Brush Synthetic B&B Chubby
    • Cream Mitchells Wool Fat
    • Aftershave Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
    Its a cold wet Saturday here in Byford WA.
    After A refreshing hot Shower I thought what can make this day less gloomy?
    So I did a lucky dip into a bag of assorted blades and out came a Waltham carbon steel blade.(pictured)
    I load it into The Tech the shave was ok bordering on average as most of you will know The Tech is a mild razor.
    And most vintage carbon steel blades don't compare to modern blades.
    (In days of old when men were bold........)
    1 Pass WTG 1 ATG and a touch up here and there and not to bad.
    Even the bay rum didn't sting.
    After cleaning up I washed and applied a drop of 3 in1 oil to the blade.
    I will see if I can get a few more shaves with some hand stropping.

    Any one from outside Australia know what the furry friend is??

    Cheers All

    My wild guess at your furry friend, is it a Quokka ? I loved watching "Skippy, the bush kangaroo" when I was a kid.

    Boy did I need that 2nd pass? That's the story of today's shave. I just didn't get enough soap onto the Stoylin razor for the first one. The shave was OK, just knew I could do better the second time around. A couple "polka-dots" showed up, but zero cuts, Knicks. The cold-water rinse and Osage took care of the polka-dots. Halston cologne to close out. Most Outstanding.

    24 Aug 2024 Saturday

    Anything goes, Aloe August

    Days growth = 1 days
    Prep = Shea butter soap face wash, Hot water soaks
    Preshave = Proraso Cypress and Vetyver
    Cream/Soap = The Body Shop Maca Root and aloe
    Brush = Omega EVO
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Flare tip
    Blade = Kai (1)
    Passes = 3 multidirectional passes
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers Rose Petal, Nivea Balm
    ASL = Fine Latigo
    Scent = Prada Black Luna Rossa

    2nd Pass needed some ATG around the upper and lower lip
    Still wasn’t getting close enough even with the Kai, so on the 3rd pass the TTO mechanism was loosened to get more blade gap, simulating an Adjustable razor. Worked well but only used on the flats and gradual convex curves

    Final buffing lower right neck, my usual problem area, with plain water

    Score = DFS, but took more time and effort with the milder razor. Super smooth again

    Damage = none

    Have a great Saturday
