    Bear fat. (!) (?)

    The web site says its real Bear fat. Life goes on in the Ukraine it seems.
    Shipping seems reasonable if a bit slow.

  4. Monday 26 Aug 2024

    Days growth = 1

    Prep = 2x 30 second hot water prep
    Preshave = Proraso
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Satsuma
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Slim @4
    Blade = Kai (3) (that’s enough)
    Passes = 3+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = PR Rinfrescante

    Scent = Prada Black Luna Rossa. Great longevity thro’ the day
    Score = 9+ /10

    Damage = none

    Thoughts = Probably need more hot water preparation. The Kai is OK on day 3. The Slim worked better today than the Flare Tip. Better weight, I guess

    Have a great Monday
  5. Great shave Chris. Satsuma is my favorite Stirling scent.

  6. A fine shave this morning, with good ol' Rise. Actually, it could have been better had I not dunked it in the tap water. Why. It slowed down the exit. I should have respected the feature of Rise-that it seeps water onto the beard to better prepare it to be shaved. I'll just give it good shakes from now on, prior to use. Clean and clear shave all around. This came after some extra work at North Porcupine and at the jawline. One pass. Nice work from the Clubman Pinaud Gent's Gin, and a solid finish with One Man Show cologne. Pretty Outstanding.

    good morning gents
    menthol monday shave
    nice and simple,fine green lather
    smooth 2 passer with the trusty brit late '50s tech/schick combo,minor pick ups
    matching splash to finish.
    the older style bottles seem to have stronger aftershave formulations,which i like
    i use the newer type bottles of green splash for work shaves..;)
    awesome
    have a fine day everyone

    Hi all a good shave this evening with the super speed load with the waltham blade.
    I touched it up on a vintage DE blade hone witch were made for the carbon blades.
    In the days when DE blades weren't as cheap as they are today compared with other day to day items.
    I'm not sure if the hone or the razor made the difference as in my opinion
    the super speed is a much better razor for me than the ball end tech with this old blade.
    1 pass WTG and ATG no touch up needed.
    A bit of bay rum and all done ( My misses hates the smell of this stuff I guess she's not alone.)
    A drop of 3 in 1 oil on the blade and I will try again some other time.
    Cheers

  17. fine flare tip shave and pic Paul.:cool::bounce017:the flare tips do have a more efficient(larger) blade exposure than most tech razors and work better with duller blades.i haven't used a carbon blade before .but lots of vintage stainless blades.milder the razor,sharper the blade as the saying goes..:):eatdrink047:

  19. Very nice shave and set-up Paul. I have never tried Pinaud-Clubman Bay Rum, but have tried Stirling's Bay Rum shave soap and aftershave. Your missus may not like the clovey/ medicinal scent of the Stirling Bay Rum.
