The Morning Shave.
The Astra blade was in my 1969 Gillette Super Adjustable 109 today.

This was a new blade, quite mild. I originally had the Gillette 109 on setting 5, this is usually my preferred setting on my Adjustables. After a few strokes I moved up to setting 6.
The blade was a little too mild although very comfortable.

Second time using the Gillette Pure cream.
This is a very dense cream, only need a tiny amount for a great rich creamy lather. The scent is a light mild floral almost unscented.

Here my Wednesday Shave (04.09.2024)


Razor: Occam´s SE Razor // Blade: KAI Captain Titan Mild // Soap: Southern Witchcrafts Pomona // Brush: Shavemac // Aftershave: Alum - Southern Witchcrafts Pomona

A very nice shave was had.

2 smooth and gentle passes were needed to get BBS. The Occam´s is a fine tool, i love it.

Southern Witchcrafts did a fine job on this. The scent is amazing as well as the quality itself. The Aftershave is one the best out there. Skinfeel is top notch and it´s calming and soothing. Wonderful stuff.

The Alum Block had only minor feedback on two spots but nothing the Aftershave couldn ´t take care of.

A 10 out of 10

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #455 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Micromatic Bullet Tip Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Kudu soap from Bundubeard is really nice - the scent profile is coffee with peppermint, it’s glycerine based, it lathers fantastically, its menthol sensation is pretty damned strong, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer is so cooling as well as soothing, and do I ever LOVE the Floid Vigoroso aftershave’s old school European scent - there’s plenty of menthol in this stuff also. Finally the Givenchy Gentleman fragrance which is lovely as well as classy. I did only two passes but I still got a great BBS shave that I very much enjoyed!

**-1830, not 1810 as is shown on many Clubman products(but not the aftershave). You know the issue-Pinaud was BORN 1n 1810, and got his perfumery started in 1830.

 

That's my goal for 2025(well, one goal)-purchase a barbershop pole brush.
